profiles and passions

if you've come looking for the continuation of the reawakening that appeared to be happening in the previous entry, this isn't it... that particular to be continued will be continued when it is continued and not a moment before and when it is, I'll try to remember (the kind of September) to put a link on that to be continued line, right... for now I present the latest in the series of volumes of introductions that I've popped out on the web in various forms for various reasons... this one, as many are, was prompted by a request for a profile....

so I finally did some updating to the myspace profile (although the CSS coding I used, which I though was as simple as it gets for CSS, crashed my old computer every time I tried to scroll down to comments, so I removed the CSS formatting and returned to the basic template... but there are words about me and about the music, movies, books, and words that turn me on these days in the profile and these are some of them:

- - - - - - - - - -

General

Besides everything, here's a start: music, words, love, especially falling in love, people, life, health, friends, the unknown, humor, passion, emotions, truth, journals, diaries, blogs, intentions, behavior, secrets, motives, peace, irreverence, time, space, continuums, intensity, sharing sensuality, giving pleasure, holding hands, kisses, touches, caresses, orgasms, writing, reading, movies, theatre, concerts, laughter, tears, photography, anything my true friends or lovers are interested in, the internet, meeting new people, exploring, learning, being amazed, newborn eyes, listening to children, observing life, faces, eyes, hands, lips, smiles, pouts, philosophies, ecosystems, planets, stars, quarks, new thing, ancient things, creativity, sci-fi, infinite possibilities, mazes, and again, music

- - - - - - - - - -

Music

Especially emotional words combined with emotional music (almost any emotion), but rarely is there music I do not enjoy. Many thousands of vinyl records stuck in storage. I love to find new music and currently I adore Meg and Dia and am moved by The Spill Canvas. The Mars Volta intrigue me, Evanescence and 30 Seconds to Mars also inspire me to want to sing/scream along, Rilo Kiley, and Death Cab For Cutie and Nada Surf please me, Coheed and Cambria and Paramore recently grabbed my attention. Brand New, Say Anything, Circa Survive, and many others add flavors to the musical soup always playing in my head. Newest to get my attention include The English Department and Brandtson. Leading out hundreds, but remembering a few I would not want to be without starts with The Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, Jackson Browne, and The Beatles always inspire my smile and Harry Chapin says it all. I have about ten thousand recordings on vinyl. You can see my scheduled concerts here and finally, for now, you can check out my CD collection as of 1994. It's bigger now.

I want more.

Movies

From The Princess Bride to Resident Evil, from Lady and the Tramp to Terminator II, from The Fifth Element to Fiddler on the Roof to What Dreams May Come, from Independence Day to West Side Story to anything Monty Python to Hook, from Dogma to Mars Attacks to anything Marx Brothers to Ferngully, from Home Alone to The Twilight Zone to The Wizard of Oz to It's a Wonderful Life, from the Home Alones to the Die Hards, from ET to Serpico to Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid to M*A*S*H, from Tale of Two Cities to Random Harvest to Mary Poppins, from The Sound of Music to A Fish Called Wanda to Sleepless in Seattle to City of Angels, from The Breakfast Club to Fahrenheit 451 to Total Recall to Who Killed Roger Rabbit, from Jesus Christ Superstar Ghost to Miracle on 34th St to Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and so many in between - I guarantee I left out movies that are part of my psyche and movies I hold dear to my heart in this momentary list... I experience a movie as I experience music and life, I enter it, become part of it, and live it (sometimes long after it ends)...

- - - - - - - - - -

TV

it's rare that a show draws me to make it a point to be home to watch it... the Sci-Fi channel gets most of my attention and some sports, but just as easily the Science Channel or cartoons might be on... TV is usually my roommates choice and very much in the background for me (or sometimes just for eye candy when there's a face I enjoy looking at), but I remember enjoying Dead Like Me, Eureka, The Dead Zone, House, 24, The X-Files, Amazing Stories, The Twilight Zone, Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis, CSI, ST:NG, Monty Python's Flying Circus, M*A*S*H, Nova, The Simpsons, Futurama, South Park, The Animaniacs and again, in a few moments a dozen more might be must-see-TV for a moment....

- - - - - - - - - -

Books

how can I possibly choose... words are like my children, there are no favorites, but a few rise to catch my attention more often than others... these come to mind tonight: Illusions, most Stephen King, the Hitchhiker's Guide series, Tale of Two Cities and other Dickens, Neil Gaiman, The Lorax and everything else by Dr. Seuss, Time Enough For Love and many by Heinlein, Bradbury, Asimov, and other Sci-Fi authors, and as with the other lists, this could go on all night... I have a library in storage (hopefully I'll unpack them all one of these days) not just because I love words, but because a living space filled with books feels like home...

- - - - - - - - - -

though you can get another taste of my favorite things in profile form by visiting this profile... and then (sooner or later I'll add a few links to other profiles and introductory pages in this space and maybe even turn this into yet another personal hub of sorts as if I don't have enough already... but hey, there might be someone out there who is as insatiable as I am and wants to know more and then more and then more and so on...

I know I'm not the only one...
