2005-09-28 - 4:22 p.m. gee, glee, glia blogmad... you must blogmad... I have no idea why other than this incessant feeling that you must... it is an imperative superlative (or vice versa)... the world will change, do not be left behind... blogmad now, before it's too late... and then, relax (peace, tranquility, serenity)... assist (love, care, share)... learn (explore, discover, revelate)... churn (brilliance, lust, trust)... yeah, well, so did you ever find yourself singing (or would it be hooting?... or oooting, to be more precise) along with the Vonage commercial?... and you think you get bored, huh?... hey, don't look now but you may have been tagged... science claims that LSD produces flashbacks... I'm still waiting for mine... actually, I think THC produces flashbacks too... lately I've been getting the munchies without the benefit (or pleasant mental sensations) of any sort of external substance... I can thank my lucky brain (or stars) that my cellular memory retained the essence (and apparently chemical formulae) of selected pleasurable drugs I tried along the way (one more thing the Presidents and I have in common?)... bless those little neurotransmitters and glial cells (and whatever stores and accesses memory)... gee, I think I have a lot of glee cells... speaking of science (loosely, very loosely), I caught a few minutes of The Buzz (at least I think that is what it is called) this morning and on it was one of the many TV chefs (the prime credentials of the breed seems to be being Japanese, British, or at least having a strong accent or gaudy flambouyance, but then, who am I to judge TV personalities) who seemed committed to the idea that leftover rice, could be turned into a hearty healthy tasty meal by being stir friend with, you guessed it, other leftovers... fascinating, no doubt... so my roommies had some leftover fried rice in the fridge (dating back to the last time we brought chinese home, which would be a few weeks, I think)... the trouble is that the rice was stored in the cardboard box that Chinese restaurants use for take-out... I also found some shrimp in the freezer that were starting to show signs of freezer burn... so I pulled out my wok and oiled it up and turned on the burner and put on the shrimp and rice and poof, dinner... some sauce and spice helped... delicious... sometimes copying CDs from the library makes for strange bedfellows, or CDfellows, I suppose... when I come across a CD that is less than 40 minutes I just cringe to thing of wasting closing a copy with more than half a CD left, so i leave the CD open and wait for a compatible CD to put on that CD... and sometimes I just put something on it that's vaguely similar in sound... and sometimes I just put on something that starts with the same letter that fits on the CD just so they will be filed under the same letter and I can close the CD... today I merge Cream (Fresh Cream) from nineteen sixty something with Clinic (Walking with Thee) from 2002... as I said, strange CDfellows... the strangest thing of all may be that, due to forgetting to retitle the CD when I first copied the Cream CD, this combination CD is entitled Rascal Flatts Favorites... meanwhile, in my browsing earlier, I found myself falling love with the internet all over again (it happens regularly)... so many minds, so many ideas, so many people to explore in ways we hardly ever get to explore people in the offline world... out there in the physical world there are so many walls blocking the sharing of meaningful thought or feeling, so much pretense to appear and be normal, right, and one of the boys or girls... while online, there is sometimes a vastly different dynamic... though many play roles and games of appearing as they want to be but do not have to confidence or guts to be offline, here online in our world of words, some of us take advantage of the opportunity to be are anything we want to be by sharing much more honestly, much more deeply than we dare to share face to face... sometimes we even find true confessions... so ok, I'll admit it, I was never a very big fan of Shakespeare... but I do like his sister... of course there is the theory that Shakespeare was a woman, but being that would have been so shockingly unacceptible back in that day, the works just had to be presented as being written by a man... and then there's the multiple author theory as well... what can I say?... I was not a big fan of any of them, ok?... anyway, there was something about giant squids I found fascinating... I reiterate: and you think you get bored, huh?... alas, and the browsing ceases again... remind me to check out the smart patrol when I get my browsing abilities back... I mean, they patrol for smart (Maxwell?... bang bang)... the mad dash to spend as little money as possible at the library this week continues... which means the tenuous (or is that precarious) copying process continues... which means the freezing and crashing of the browser and computer continues... which means the limited browsing continues... which means I miss you... and the entries are more dependant on life around here and work than on your inspirations... and tonight I did not have time to pull out the computer, which means... more junk... I am slowly getting more CDs copied... #40 is in process right now... the crash rate is about once every five CDs... someday I will create a database of all the CDs I have copied... and speaking of someday, someday I'll regain access to all the CDs I owned by 1994... see, once I was a serious audiophile... once I built a tower, up to the sun, brick, and rivet, and lime... ah yes, back in the day of vinyl, I had the top end tube and transistor components (when amps did not automatically come with pre-amps and other components in all-in-one packages)... many thousands of vinyl recordings are packed away in storage with those CDs... the hope of a legacy of music... if only... everything since then is gone, stolen by so-called-friends, so I continue to try to recover the music with the help of the library... music is the truest friend I've ever known and I've been so lost without it, but there is a part of me that punishes me by keeping me away from music, keeping me mostly dead by not singing and therein not truly living the physical experience of music... I'm so tired of that old story (still the same?... who knows... and so it goes)... oh the woe, oh the puty... I mean pity... see, that's whay I love about typos, they are a wonderfully random barrier island keeping the hurricane of depression from striking the mainland at full force... yeah, I know, the subject just won't leave my brain... dang glial cells... please excuse the haphazard lateness of this entry, the DLand servers have been slower than a watched pot trying to boil today (as currently the wait for a comment to upload is more than two minutes, in fact, I have to extend the time-out period for the browser just for the DLand servers... I wonder more often than not why I continue to put up with the slowness since I'm paying for it and there are other sites so much faster (and some free)... anyway, I'd have uploaded this earlier had I had easier access to the DLand server... and the CD copying delays, please excuse them too... some further reading on glial cells (just for the glee of it all)
