insanity here... what can I say... anything you've ever heard about lightning never striking in the same place twice, well, forget it...

don't mind me, I'm just going slightly mad...

lately, life for this diary has sucked thanks to the weather... the hurricane was not enough... after five days the power finally came back on and I stopped in to tell you we survived (was that Wednesday night?... I think so)... and I went to work happy about that, though not showered because the phone rang just as I was going to shower and meeting someone new was more exciting than showering and then I had yto get to work and then the next morning I think I left some notes rather randomly trying to catch up on all the people I want to keep up with here (like hundreds, so how to do that on an hour a day, huh?... impossible dreams are my specialty, anyway...) and I nodded off a minute or two until I had to take Rasputin to the airport and then get to a meeting in the afternoon and get to a drum circle thing in the evening and then, back to work again... Friday morning, another work meeting that extended into 21 hours of work due to multiple crisis moments throughout the day and I just happened to stay a little overtime because there was a meeting in the morning and I had to get some papers signed and my manager had a call while I was there and I waited through it and then one of my fellow night shift peers needed an hour to do something so I said I'd stay the extra hour and just as I was about to leave the place fell apart, almost literally, one girl kicked out a window and several other girls followed her out the window, over a fence, and into the woods... barefoot, so they were caught, but that set off half the unit for the next twelve hours and lucky me, I was there and I don't leave the kids in the middle of a crisis or a dozen crisises and then, and then... finally I got home after being out and running around and processing crisis situations for almost 36 hours and what else could go wrong? (check the title again)...

the power was off again...

just before I walked in the door, I am told... and here we are (the actual now of this writing), fourty eight hours after that marathon work/meeting and stuff to do 36 hours and coming home to the darkness and heat and humidity again and the power is back on (the power company people who were out there just now said it was a lightning strike, can we get a tornado next?)...

but of course this is just a bit of momentary whining presented here for your pity and sympathy and attention seeking while I scramble to find the scraps of paper that I've been bleeding upon in the dark all week and transcribe them on to the computer and finally upload them here as if I never missed a day (that is, if lightning doesn't strike for a third time in the same spot)...

I missed you...

I missed me too...

and I will catch up soon and laughter is the best medicine so I am seriously drugged on the ridiculous and giddy stuff of life right now, but remember, I may be the last person in Florida to get the power turned back on, so... nurture, sympathy, coddle and cuddle (and I'll love you forever... again)...
