busy busy busy

Note: this entry will be completed tomorrow, that is, more will be added and stuck in here and there to complete the thoughts I did not have time to complete today, or yesterday, actually... come back again even if there's an entry tomorrow that forever means this will be a previous entry destined to pass into obscurity... or forgottten, even....

and now, the entry, incomplete as it may be...

I know, I'm a day behind again... I'll see about catching up tomorrow, maybe... it's not that I don't love you, because you know I do, it's just that I've been sucked in, abducted, seduced and addicted to this new thing...

no, not that thing...

go ahead, you can play with it too...

yesterday (thought the days are just one big smudge this weekend) produced the previous entry and maybe 5% of all the places I spent a little time were mentioned... ... today I didn't even have the will power to copy and paste links and have something clever or meaningful or informative or ridiculous or anything to say about my hours and hours of staring at the screen and pushing that button...

Stumble!

yes, that one...

it has some magical power over me... I sit back a moment and suddenly find my mouse poised over that button and my mind (or some part of me addicted to input, you know, like Number Five in Short Circuit, information, knowledge, stuff) eager for more audio-visual stimulation is pressing that button... I am pretty sure that there a neurons firing in my head that never fired before (and who would have though I had any of those left, huh?... it is a full body orgasm starting at my eyes and ears exploding through my brain (I won't get any more graphic than that out of respect for the kids in the audience, or something like that)... so much information, trivia, games, and I've not laughed so much all by myself since the last time I was experimenting with various mind-altering substances...

ironically, Precious and Rasputin are watching the Blue Collar Comedy Tour marathon on the comedy channel and they keep looking over probably thinking that I am laughing at odd times...

you know the looks, like, "wait for the punch line"...

I think the sad thing about Jeff Foxworthy is that most of what he says is true...

funny, but true...

anyway, I also have downloaded some stuff that I am considering trying out on this desktop... trouble is, most stuff requires every bit of memory and speed this desktop has (and everything recommends more)... that's the only reason I haven't installed Firefox, by the way... it might work on this 300mh 64MB machine, but it might slow the sucker down to a crawl or lock it up... and would I be able to Stumble!??

did you see that?...

I mean, did you see two question marks?... how often have you seen two question marks (in a row) in this diary... in any of my writings? (unless, of course, I am writing as a cartoon character, which I have not done for some time, but used to do in the nineties, especially in TheAsylum... there'd be a trademark thing attached to that but I can not find the character map on this desktop... it sucks to not feel at home on a computer... and to find the configuration strange enough to have key elements left off... like the volume thing... there's no way to control volume on this computer... it was disabled or removed, probably along with the character map... some of the sites I visit at 4am are kinda loud too... on the plus side, I can browse sites with graphics and sound now, which is something I did not do on the laptop due to the dialup and even less memory and speed... and the 21 inch monitor is definitewly a bonus... my back doesn't like it, nor does my butt, so a compromise will be reached sooner or later... it'll take some rearranging of furniture and contemplation and time... unfortunately, this weekend I've been distracted by this new thing on my browser bar... I hope the world didn't come to an end)...

so I've got a new free AV (anti-virus) program to check out after I find out if this desktop can handle it... and I downloaded Snag-It and it seems to work on this computer... I can save screen shots now... I've never had that ability before (pathetic lack of comuter experience, huh?... well, especially in the graphics area because most graphics programs require a lot more memory and power than any computer I've ever owned had... or I'm just real lazy about it because I don't have time... same goes for the audio world... as much as I love music, I've not had much adio capability either... of course there are deep dark reasons for my subtle avoidances of musical depths, but that's the old sad story I never did quite finish (soup, for those around in the nineties) and I'm not in a reminiscent mood tonight...

so much distraction, so little time...

I found a new current dream designer... yes, I found dontclick.it (the only thing missing is a clock measuring how long you can go without playing with your, well, you'll just have to go see for yourself)...

speaking of great designers, I was talking to the designer of the blogathon site and I am not nearly as turned off by the blogathon as I was last week (hey, I started out positive and got into it {check the links on the left to the blogathon posts if you have lots of time and want to see my brain explode}, didn't I?)... much good does come from it and many great people are involved... hopefully there'll be an essential change in leadership next year and I'll be just as enthused (is that spelled right?) next year as I was in 2003, which was even more enthused as I was this year, though I did get around to some fun last minute enthusiasm with a little help from my friends...

suddenly, I thought this:

what we don't know about stars, could make us laugh, or perhaps ponder the prejudices behind the change...

and did you ever wonder what something is really made of?...

I am so thinking about this...

I could include one or a few of the amazing notes and comments and emails I've written, but then, not everyone shares my ego's opinion of the notes and comments and emails I write and I'm not feeling clever enough to introduce them with enough casual irreverence to make them something to look forward to, therein increasing their potential worth even if they are not as great as ego thinks (which they aren't but half the fun of writing is poking fun at ego)...

besides, some of those I leave notes or comments for might not want me to repeat myself here and others might not want to be linked to my babbling... please do tell me, no offense taken at all, if you do not want to be linked to any notes or comments or emails I might write to you if ego wins (and ego does now and then) and those notes or comments or emails find their way into my ramblings...

I still haven't gotten dialogue down well enough to include phone conversations or other conversations in the stream of thought that is my writing... see cutething for that cuz she's all about the conversation...

and she's dang good at it too...

this entry might have been longer if I had more time and I was not distracted by the following three links for longer than I want to think about... first, who remembers pong?... and sometimes all I can say is yes...

see the previous entry if you still have more time to have fun and learn things on the web...
