2004-10-31 - 4:42 p.m. there was a part two, really... I'm not exactly sure where it went, but that just goes to prove that it's really about time I cleaned up around here (here being everywhere, inside and out, I mean, the writing files {of which there are now hundreds and I forget about ninety five percent of them, left unfinished, most of the time} and the rest of the computer files and that doesn't even begin to look around at life {again, inside and out} but it's probably not time to whine and moan about the sluggish lethargy {as opposed to energetic lethargy, huh?} of body and spirit and mind and surely I don't want to hear any more about the filthy kitchen or cluttered living space {do you?... I sure hope not} and the frustrations of CD-RWs that crash 1998 computers and the slowness and the waiting and the lonely hours and the non-stop chatter of TV people and the restlessness and so I'll just leave this parenthetic tangent and leave it {irony, huh?} at about time I cleaned up around here, period)... the roommies went out to the store for Pepsi (that's an emergency around here... alas, milk and juice will be thrown out regularly, after they notice the sour smell, but Pepsi requires an emergency run to the store at any hour of the day or night), so I turned the TV off (of course they assume I'll want it left on) and my headphones are now playing Peter Gabriel, Long Walk Home good and loud, so I am shutting out the world (a rarity in this space) and loving every moment of it... if you happen to call, please leave a message... and now we will attempt to recover what might have been part two from the recesses of memory... whatever happened yesterday during the day time hours I think I did some browsing and mostly vegetating, with a nap in the big green chair... and a few political thoughts that slipped through my mind), I do remember that last night six people from work, my two roommates, a few other friends, and I went to see Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Theatre Downtown (that's the name, it's not actually downtown, but then, there's not much of a downtown in Orlando, so it's sort of near the few blocks that might be called downtown, but a few miles north, actually)... since I was the only one who knew everybody (except one new person who just moved up here from Key West who Helena met through an ex-friend of hers), my attention was bouncing around to check if anyone seemed uncomfortable (cuz it was a very diverse group, from rather devout church-goer to a rather flamboyant gay guy and country and city and various nationalities and colors and the show had a bunch of nearly naked bodies that occasionally brushed up against some of the audience cuz the show is, after all, a perverse parody on Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and Halloween and every bad horror movie ever made in the fifties... live nude bodies {some rather cute too}, how refreshingly stimulating... obviously I've been alone too long, huh?)... it appeared that everyone was having a good time and they all asked about the next show and whether we were all going... happiness... and as bits of memory return... before the show a few of us met at some small restaurant/cafe/bar place with Wolf in it's name (it was excellent food, $10-20 dinner pricing, and everywhere you looked there were odd chandeliers and nicnacks and assorted things that gave it a curiosity-shop atmosphere that was comfortable, casual, and friendly) so I'll remember to mark the name down for future reference)... and after the show we went to a little club (baby grand piano in the corner behind the red velvet rope to the other side of the place where there was a pool table and couches) where we sat out on the patio and talked and watched the freight train pass by (the backyard patio is about ten yards from the track that passes through downtown), which brought a bit of the bohemian theatre experiencing into the otherwise casually elegant club)... after a moment's research, the restaurant is called The White Wolf and the club is Savoy Orlando... both definitely recommended, you should know that the Savoy is not for the homophobic... so it was a great night and we even stayed out past midnight (just past), which is a rarity when hanging with the people I know... one of these days I shall find night-people friends again and we shall haunt the dark... Rasputin and Precious just came back (a run for for Pepsi doesn't take long, after all) with bags of Halloween candies... this is not a good environment for a chocoholic who is trying to drop a few pounds... I gave them the sign of the cross to let them know they are pure evil and they went away (we laugh, but I dropping a few pounds would be a very good idea for me) and Raspy retired to his bedroom and Precious is wandering around looking lost and lonely with her glass of Pepsi and cell phone... I think she's working her way up to turning the TV back on (the TV in her room doesn't come with me to watch for reactions in the hope I'll get into whatever she's watching, ya know)... there's actually a football game on this afternoon that I considered watching, but I'd much rather listen to music and read and write (in the absence of a cuddle partner or an activity partner to play with)... so while Precious sits a few feet away talking on the cell phone, I shall wander into the music (this CD is mostly wordless and nice and long) and relax in my mind and perhaps read some words...
