well here we are again, a mid-week entry in the morning when I feel tired and still sliding into a lethargic state (or phase, since they come and go in recent years)... after scarfing down some homemade mac 'n cheese, I am ready to nod off again... definitely could do with a tug out of this phase, I could...

obviously (to me, at least), I fell asleep as I was writing that... and so once again this is an abbreviated just-before-work entry... the building inspector came through today while I was half asleep, but I think I remembered to point out the key questionable areas (water stains and shorting-out wiring)... he seemed in a hurry and didn't look close at anything, but I suppose he did what's expected of him by those who hired him...

at work, the power that be decided to give three day suspensions to anyone who did not come to work during the hurricane... so far they have not said anything to me about my refusal to cover for a supervisor who did not do their job and did not want to stay to cover their mistake (it was another unit of the hospital and they knew a couple of people weren't showing up in the morning, but didn't bother to tell me until after I had clocked out... I asked, since he knew all night they'd need help in the morning, why he waited until I was no longer working... no response... I told him that he could not force me to clock in again, my shift was over (half hour ago... I had just been helping one of the nurses on my unit on my time), and since he didn't get coverage for his unit, he'd have to cover it... he ended up having to stay five hours and maybe he learned something about his job... there's always hope...

meanwhile, the people who were stopped by the police and told to turn around the night of the hurricane will be losing three days pay and the facility will be trying to cover all their shifts in the next week... I told management not to ask me to cover any of them because I do not support the suspensions... I suggested they contact the sheriff's office and let the sheriff know that they are disregarding the sheriff's curfew orders and threatening to fire people if they do not disregard curfews and risk their lives to get to work so that next time the sheriff will not tell people to turn around and not drive to work... they took that with their usual indifference...

meanwhile, around the space... we're still sharing my computer and my charger for the cellphone and my kitchen stuff and my emergency supplies and so on... I thought of this just now because I was just ased for the charger for the phone as if it was not actually mine, but ours... strange how some people don't seem to realize that they are using other people... but what may have brought this up even more is there is a grease filled frying pan on a grease covered stove again... unhealthy dirty habits just do not seem to change no matter how disrespectful they are to someone else who does not want to live that way... besides the grease, the continued crumbs on all the kitchen counters and carpets and wherever they go that I wake up to every day... I continue to point them out and they continue to clean occasionally, but mostly ignore the messes they leave...

otherwise, they are beautiful people (and still I find a smile cuz I've known much {much much} worse in terms of roommates)... I know I can call Sally anytime and have help in an emergency or even just cuz I needed some help with something... being more like family than roommates means tolerating more bad habits, I suppose...

the clutter of equiptment continues to be all over the place as the dehumidifiers continue to drone on and on, but they are doing their jobs and the mold/mildew spells are dissapating (yay)... I won't think about the electric bill... and speaking of bills, remind me to pay a few soon since the deadline for insurance is the end of September and the rest of the bills house were due this week... or was that last week... yeah, pay bills... before nodding off after work... I'm writing myself a note...

and in my continuing series of strange or exotic references to Harry Potter, in the second book, Chamber of Secrets, the scene in the infirmary when Ron says, "What's that?"... well, if I was only thirteen again... and of course, you'd have had to have been there to understand...

maybe tomorrow I'll be awake enough to browse around and write about something more interesting... maybe I'll get to the gym and pick up my energy level some more and... yeah, maybe tomorrow...

today, it's time to go to work again... hope your night (or day) is full of smiles and fun...
