remember that $99 computer I bought a while back? (when I bought this $99 laptop... I think it was the middle of August... I probably mentioned it in the other daily life journal and maybe in the other journals and diaries as well... maybe I should introduce them all and somehow explain them all and why they exist?... yeah, one of these days, but for now I am talking about that $99 computer)... well, I was so happy playing with this new laptop that I left the other computer sitting in the corner since I bought it, partly cuz I am lazy, but kmostly because I do not have a desk for it and did not know where to put it... but that was yesterday... sort of... I still don't have a desk and am not sure where to put it, but I have sat it on an old end table someone gave me (a friend of Helena's who someones comes out with us... I suppose I should name her... ummmm, later... no, I don't mean her name is later, I mean I'll think about her name later, anyway, thank you for the table and it's not got the $99 computer sitting on it) and that table fits under the four foot folding table I bought to sit the laptops on when I am not using them, so the only trick was fitting the monitor that Sam gave me (well, he left it here cuz he didn't need it, but he can have it back if he wants it) on the folding table while still having room for the two laptops and the small CD tower (did I mention I bought a small CD tower?... well, I figured it was about time I put the few CDs I have {and those that angels have sent me) in some stable place because they were getting left wherever and especially now that two cats live here, well, the less things are put away the more mischief the cats get into so I bought the CD tower... it helps me keep the library CDs in one place so I don't have to look all over the place when I have to return them, which, by the way, should have been last week... or was that the week before... alas, I support the arts and my local library)... somehow, for now, everything fits... it is not all reachable from the big green chair, but almost and with some modificatins, well, we shall see... anyway, the new $99 desktop computer is now set up and guess what...

it has USB ports and can handle DSL... of course an ethernet card would be wiser and I may buy one because we do not have a hub so I'd have to unplug Sally's computer every time I wanted the DSL so I don't have the DSL yet cuz Sally's USB cable is not long enough and anyway, I am excited cuz I'll have DSL one of these days... right now the new computer is updating itself, which will take a few hours since it's downloading megabytes at 56K... it's downloaded 10MB so far... it was so much faster doing it for Sally's machine with DSL... maybe I should have connected to the DSL just to update... whatever, it's doing it, slowly... probably will take all night...

so while it's doing it's thing I am writing here on the laptop offline and thinking about all the fun the new computer can bring me... it has a CD burner... now I just have to buy some blank CDs (I had hundreds before Cruella stole them... another name, yeah, I have references in all my other writing spaces to people, but not here... maybe it is time)... ok, you can find some more detail about me in a recent candora entries and the past few here... and who is candora, you ask... ok, here goes (click next)...
