stuffed...

well, then again, perhaps there is room for a few more words before we lose our minds, aye?...

ah, a weeklong dietary and exercise regime consisting of protein and complex carbs and daily gym work concludes with a rousing Macaroni Grill creation ceasar salad, stuffed portabelle mushroom appetizer, and then spaghetti with a create-your-own sauce and such... I selected the Asiago cheese sauce with red onions, mushrooms, and sun-dried tomatoes topped with shrimp, meatballs, sausage, P-cheese, and a fifth protein that slips my mind at the moment cuz I am just waking from an exquisitely impromptu nap and finally assorted cookies including creme-filled chips A-hoy and Uh-Oh Oreos for dessert)... ah, sweet culinary decadence... half the meal came home with me for tomorrow's lunch or dinner (so some will power was exhibited, ahem)... it was a wonderful way to conclude a day that started with a night at work, a good workout at the gym, some juggling in my Fantasy Baseball leagues, and then going to the movies to see the third Harry Potter movie...

and then I nodded off again (can you feel the contented smile?)...

and waking from the nap to continue the recap of another day... after dinner we were too late to get to the library to see if they had a copy of the third Potter book and since I finished the second I started on Neverwhere by Neil Gaimen, another of the many authors on my wanna-read list... at first in my reading I am getting a feel of Douglas Adams, only darker (and possibly more optimistic)... over the next few weeks I intend to finish the three remaining books in the Potter series and also read the sixth book in Stephen King's Dark Tower series and continue exploring Neil Gaimen and possibly give myself another shot of Richard Bach (a gentle genius everyone should read now and then) and then start on something new (wow, something new?)...

oh yes, the fifth protein, if it matters greatly to you (it does to the carefully calculated recipe) was Italian bacon...

just before coming here I rearranged the teams in the Fantasy Baseball leagues where the challenges continue to impress me this year... in the first league (just us four friends), as if I did not have enough challenges with star players getting injured, three more went down this week (in case you follow baseball and know the names, I mean Chavez, Ordonez, and Halladay) and one of the group already on the disabled list (Giles, Peavy, Anderson, Sexton) went down for the year (Sexton) so I dropped him (joining Walker, Mondesi, Nenn, and others I originally drafted and dropped)... and then I've got guys like Helton and Delgado and Rodriguez and others who didn't play this week and/or not producing as expected... and that's just one league... still, somehow, I moved from last the third place this week, go figure... the challenge is pick and choose from the players still available, using intition and statistical analysis to select the hottest players any given week (and dropping the slumping ones)... winning in Fantasy Baseball is nearly impossible without steady production from regular players, but I definitely enjoy the challenge...

other leagues are similarly challenging this year, and in one I've climbed into second and another climbed into sixth and still moving up slowly...

I was able to get to the desktop computer to work on the games cuz Precious was on the phone... I even switched the TV to the Sci-Fi channel, but didn't watch since she came out of her room to continue her conversation on the couch right in front of the TV and I figure she wanted the companionship while talking to her mom and since I'm not all that interested in reruns of Stargate SG1 (which is all that was on) I focused more on the leagues... I think it's good that she feels comfortable rambling on in front of me and it's kinda touching that she wants to... I think more teens should be so comfortable and open with the people who care for them... I did sit down to watch Brave New World (which is on right now... ah, savage John Cooper meets civilization and scientist Bernard Marks ponders that which he was conditioned to not understand or care much about... feelings, individuality, spirituality, sensuality, love) and start tapping these keys again... Precious heated up leftovers from dinner (and Pepsi) and hopefully she won't be going right to bed since that's a bad habit (and one reason she's gaining weight) I keep trying to suggest she think about changing to healthier life habits (one of my small attempts to leave the world a little better for my being in it)...

I think the worst thing about a big brother type of society is that seldom does anyone watch big brother... the hypocrisy of total exposure and monitoring of everything everyone does without total open disclosure of everything the watchers do is the fundamental flaw in any attempt at true social equality... but then, many philosphers from Socrates to Sartre (a book I almost took home from Barnes & Noble today) have pounding that dead horse much better than I will ever do, even if I was so inclined...

speaking of Barnes & Noble (one of the stops after dinner), I could not remember the name of a book I wanted to pick up {must ask her to remind me again} so I did not use the two gift cards I have in my wallet... I got one for my birthday and the other two Christmases ago... the library makes it too easy not to buy a book... that sounds horrible, considering how much I love reading and there would be no books to read if authors could not survive and authors could not survive without some sort of payments and... well, look at me... doing what I love to do (alone) most, babbling on for free in my little bit of free time while working at saving the world one little kid at a time...

hey, I did get to the gym this morning after work, so the body digested lots of stuff fast so I'm not that stuffed after all... we could have so much fun together if you were here and really want to... to... to... well, to have so much fun together...

and how are you really?...
