round here

I could swear I uploaded this next bit but a search of this diary says I didn't (maybe somewhere else?) so I was looking for some Chuck Berry lyrics when I came across some small cows who may or may not be sacred, but seemed quite wise if only in a cliche way and I wanted to see the source of the quotable references so I followed the link to the dlak (dlak?... distant cousins of the funda, perhaps?) where I immediately studied the previous postings for at least seven minutes, which is possibly some sort of record in my current manic ADD state of brain where there's been lack of sleep and much piling on of words without a called penalty yet but everything points to a massive babbling attack at any moment whether the fingers and brain cells are ready for it or not, and found some sort of relationship brewing between the mind of dlak and some part of the mind that sometimes resides between my ears so I added a link to my blogspot world because the dlak happen to be at blogspot...

suddenly I am hearing the Martians in that movie Mars Attacks which often has been known to happen when I am beyond coherent verbiage and stupor starts floating through the cranial capacitaters (gotta watch out for the tots) and we all know what happens when them taters get fried...

anyway, I was searching for the more suggestive lyrics for Reelin and Rockin (after playing My Ding-A-Ling for Precious as part of her education on the roots of rock and roll {having patiently watched the first two episodes of the documentary} in part to convince her that I brought rock and roll with me from my home planet and if you'd all just look up and see how the stars aligned you'd all know too)...

everything is fun and the world is a pretty cushy place or so it seems for a happy teenager in Florida... and everything is drama and the end of the world at times too... working with teenage girls is at once a blessing and a challenge (but not a curse as no matter the nature of the energy, and sometimes it is negative and often egocentric, but who isn't)... and living with one is a constant (and I mean constant) source of inspiration and wonder and distraction...

especially now that school is out...

after a trip down south to check out her #1 college choice and visit the beach, we headed to a job interview (hers... mental note: must teach her to drive) and some shopping and dinner and dessert (our favorite Gelato place is Jeremiah's) and working more hours than usual, again, I napped for a few hours (I think I've forgotten how to sleep) and here we are again... life offline nudged any writing or uploading out of the picture until now...

even though she is my roommates daughter, I spend as much, if not more time with her (and doing the daily life with her) than anyone else as my roommate works way too many hours to have much of a life... someone has to pay the bills and anyone who has a teenager in the house, well, you know what the bills can become... I don't mind helping but I am not a money tree... of course I work nights and living five minutes from her school, I am the one called in case of emergencies and such... and now that summer is here and she has so much time on her hands, I'm reminded of how wonder-filled a life can be at that explosive age...

Precious is an amazing person with an endless summer attitude (not that she doesn't have he usual angst and occasional selfish rudeness, but then, the world does revolve around her, doesn't it? {she doesn't always enjoy my sarcasm, but sometimes actually gets it}... smart girl we have here... especially when she hands me a new stack of CDs or DVDs she's burned for me... she knows that one of the fastest ways to my heart {and free rides wherever she needs to go} is definitely through music)...

being the adult her and her friends trust to tell all their intimate secrets to often leaves me with little time for myself these days, but it's mostly fun being considered the cool adult... or maybe I'm the adult powerless to do anything but listen (I'll pretend it's the first)... that's what I get for never growing up... we've got another year left to bounce around together and I'll miss her next fall when she starts, but I'll also have a lot more life to fill up and I'm looking forward to that too (empty nest syndrome by proxy?)...

and hopefully my endless summer will continue to continue too...

so anyway, that's about when she ran into her room to explore her communication skills online with her friends while searching for Fall Out Boy icons and sounds and videos and tickets and locks of hair and I put on Alice Cooper's Dirty Diamonds and rated each song (something I have not done since I was a teenager, except for when I did it a few years ago, come to think of it, and every time I did it before... it generally foretells of signs of the pending renewal of childhood that is approaching from the nether regions of my mind, though everything seems to take so long these days cuz there's so little time to concentrate on any one thing) and the rare A (or 90 out of a hundred, since I break even letter grades up into at least ten gradients) shows up for music (I rate music and lyrics separately, when I do this sort of thing, that is) when I came across Six Hours... reminding my of Mars Volta's The Widow (musically) and how much of a sucker I am for a weeping guitar...

I listened to the CD twice and now Seven Mary Three plays... and this is fun... well, it was fun as I was counting down the ten top ten lists on the site from ten (where counting down often starts, aye?) until i got to the #2 list and found songs I love on his "Most Annoying Songs of All-time" (what can I say, sentimental favorites and you had to be there) and so he lost me completely... it did not help earlier when he credited BlueBerry Hill to Chubby Checker on his Top Ten Euphemisms for Sex (and of course this was part of my search for the complete Chuck Berry lyrics)...

I'd share them with you, the results of the search, that is, but your kids may be in the room and I wouldn't want them running over to the computer and reading such stuff after you fall out of your chair laughing and gasping for breath...

anyway, if I haven't mentioned this before (or recently), please have no doubt that I adore you for stopping by and leaving me a sign that I am not alone in this journey called life in black and white... even as I continue to slip a few words of daily report into the RealTime blog (you know, the blog for those interested in the mundane activities of me and those sharing time and space offline in this life I loosely call mine), I feel myself drifting from the internet (and even from the written word) and into the physical world more and more... it is most likely a phase as I've rarely stayed away from the written word for long (though I have lived the hermit life not sharing the written word for periods of time)...

this is not about a desperate plea for attention (at least not this time... if it was, I'd be writing even more whiney rambles about how lonely I am {and how dry I be} and how nobody loves me and nobody understands me and worms don't even want to be my friend or some such gibberish), it's just letting the sands of time pass while the sands of my mind settle into some sort of sand-sculpture picture or some such closely related metaphor like that...

so life around here is busy with fun and drama and music and sometimes I might even forget that I do not have a partner to share it all (it would be much more fun with a partner for me)... hopefully you are enjoying whatever is going on in your life too (remember, the chocolate ice cream is great even without the fudge topping and whipped cram and extras and just being alive is like chocolate ice cream)...
