well, you see, what happened was... Precious came out again... I told her I wasn't watching the TV and that I'd be going to the library in a little while if she wanted to go and we'd stop at the video store and pick up It's A Wonderful Life to watch later and then she put on the Friends DVDs and I stood up to get the CDs (as I said in the last entry that just pasued for uploading a few minutes ago (which only sort of continued the one before that which was more closely a continuation of the one before that and noticed Precious was eating pizza, so cold pizza for breakfast (and Friends, the one with the C.H.E.E.S.E.) slipped in between whatever it was I originally was getting up to do at the pause in the last entry...

oh well...

so now I have this stack of CDs sitting on my belly (just in front of the laptop) and I am sort of watching Friends... so these CDs: Freebird, The Movie... Highlander, The Original Scores... Kenny G, The Moment, Faith, Greatest Hits... Natalie Cole, Take a Look, Stardust... Emerald City Jazz Orchestra, Alive and Swinging... Richard Burmer, Shining by the River... Ruben Studdard, Flying Without Wings and Superstar sit here on my lap as I laugh at (and dream of having) a bunch of friends like the friends on Friends...

I would say that I think you sent them, but then it would be horribly embarrassing if it was someone else and if it was someone who doesn't know my apparently scatter-brain well might be offended and the absolutely last thing I want to do in this world is create any negative energy that might hurt anyone even a little, so I won't mention that I really think Annie sent them...

but that's what i was getting to a few entries ago when i was getting to something that was part of what was inspired by Ice Cream Creatures and other stuff in the mail and that was...

as simple and silly as that might seem, I feel like I have not thanked enough people enough... I mean, I don't want to give the impression that I get stuff in the mail all the time... I mean, I don't... in fact, I usually mention what comes in the mail here in my daily life rambles... of course I might mention it rather obscurely or in what might appear to be an odd way (with altogether too many unnecessary words for some less semantically addicted who probably don't read me anyway so nevermind), or else in infinitely graphic detail, but I don't actually specifically and directly say thank you as much as I want to mostly because I ...

was distracted...

I am back for a moment... Rasputin called to say he was running late and would not be able to set his picks for his college football pick'em game because he did not set them yet and will not be home in time because he is stuck at work... so I offered to go to his computer and log in and make picks for him while he's on the phone and it took fifteen minutes to reboot his computer because Precious has three or four instant messaging programs set to automatically boot up with the computer and the computer is an old Gateway rental computer that doesn't have nearly enough memory to run even one of the instant messaging programs well, no less all of them simultaneously while still being a browser...

so I waited and then set all the preferences for all the instant messaging programs so they won't automatically start at reboot and finally when the computer was ready to browse, the fantasy sports site was down... so I tried refreshing every five minutes until the dealine and it didn't come back and oh well...

so his leaving things for the last moment habit backfires and now the season is moot unless we give him a general average number for picks he didn't make... we didn't do that for his brother for week one cuz his brother didn't get into the league until week two (and he didn't have a hurricane as an excuse, huh), I just set the season to start with week two... unfortunately, that eliminated his and mine week one scores, which had me nicely in the lead... and now we will have to figure out a way to deal with him having no points for week three and still make the league fair and there's really no way so we'll just keep making picks and have fun week to week, but there won't actually be any sort of winner for the season because no matter what, the numbers won't be actual picks, but estimates...

and that was the league I talked my friend from work into joining so now his brother missed the first week and he missed the third week and since my friend from work just joined, he missed the first two weeks, so I'm the only one who has points for all three weeks...

so I win, right?...

well, it would have been fun, anyway... we still have other stuff to play... and now we are going to go to the library to return the DVDs and pick up It's A Wonderful Life (if the library has it and if not, the video store) and then we will go shopping for a gift or few cuz it's Raspy's birthday tomorrow... so the thread of the magical inspiration that started a few entries ago (remember?) is slowly unravelling into the distractions and stuff of daily life and that's why I am not a serious famous writer selling millions of copies of best sellers, just in case you wanted to know...

I really do appreciate the stuff I get, really...
