partly private with chance of TV flurries

the weather in Central Florida can be phoned in from anywhere most of the time because it is so predictable... especially in the hot half of the year... there are only two seasons, warm and hot, and soon the hot season will be here... in the hot season, the weather report repeats daily and goes something like this: hot, humid, chance of showers in the afternoon... sometimes they venture a guess at 50%-80% chance of showers, but the report remains constant otherwise... it's kinda like the report in this living environment that is the title for this entry...

today was typical... I get a call at work from Precious informing me that her bus never showed up, which may be code for "I was late", but she claims that she thought she was out there on time... I left it up to her to decide how strong that conviction was by giving her the job of explaining it to her school when I dropped her off... bus drivers never like to admit they missed a stop, even if there is a different driver every day because they don't have a regular driver for the route, so I was confident that if she felt strongly enough about being on time and expressed this to the school when signing in late, they would call the bus dispatcher and an inquiry would be made by of the driver... sure enough, Precious reports that the driver insisted he did not miss the spot and even claimed he was a few minutes late... Precious countered with logic, that if he claimed to be a few minutes early she might have accepted that she was missed the bus because she was on time, but she was sure she was not a few minutes late... last Friday she was a few minutes late and missed the bus so she knows what a few minutes late is... yes, good logic, Precious... Fridays, huh?... we'll call it another learning experience and she'll hopefully be five minutes early from now on... especially on Fridays...

after dropping Precious at school, I settled in with the laptop for some reading and writing, but also turned on the TV and watched some of the Sci-Fi channel morning shows... Earth: Final Conflict, The Sentinel, Sliders are the usual morning fare, and then there's usually a five hour block of the same show, changing daily... yesterday it was Quantum Leap, an old favorite (overlooking the Little House on the Prairie moral preaching and dependency on god for want of more clever sci-fi creativity) and all in all, the morning was fun and I enjoyed the solitude...

Raspy got home and spent a couple of hours on his computer in his room before going to bed, which left me to listen to Precious as she related her school day and talked about this and that (and I don't want to discourage her from freely discussing her life as she's one of those rare teens who doesn't feel paranoid about sharing openly and honestly with her parents and I'm considered one of them by default I supposed)... we watched an episode of Quantum leap and she retired to her room when a rather graphic episode of The X-Files came on... a little while later she came out... dinner time... Raspy left instructions that she should grab some fruit and he'd wake up about 8PM to deal with food for her... the evening rolled by and along about 11PM he woke and told her order whatever she wanted and she ordered pizza... dinner was just after 11:30PM, followed by bedtime for her and work for him... since I didn't sleep at all I nodded off somewhere just after the pizza arrived (refraining from eating just before sleeping, health points for me, yay)...

and that was the day that was (today) according to the date-time stamp on this entry, but actually being typed in after waking the next day... I nodded off just about the time stamped above with this box open ready to write something clever or profound or worth reading about the day... after all, I was creative in other diaries yesterday, in between distractions... a little sad and a whole lot euphoric (which is a good mix of real life feeling in which to grow rhymes)... I wonder sometimes if my readers in other places know about this daily life diary (or how many poetry readers or others really want to know more about me enough to check in here... I rarely get comments on even where I pay for the service, which is why I don't pay for the comments here... I would if I thought enough of you reading would want to leave comments regularly, but then, there are notes and do I really write interesting enough stuff about the same old routine of daily life for anyone to have a comment they'd want the whole world to see?... I giggle as I think I might regret asking that)...
