this entry is comprised of bits and pieces I've collected from various readings on and off line in the recent past... the links are very worth visiting and exploring, mostly (some are saved because an initial glance inspired me to want to explore more but there wasn't time at that moment)...
this is how dreams end, and new dreams begin...
I found another place to go for when I get hippie nostalgic... and I must find more time for this...
being away for weekends without bringing the laptop means bouncing mail... 1870-something new messages downloaded into my email program the first weekend I was away... and after being away for the second weekend, 2500-something more downloaded... how much money is all this SPAM costing ISPs (and in turn, us)?... and the inconvenience and missed connections... it's like using a phone system that is almost always busy with solicitations... both times the public mailbox was full of SPAM and bouncing (that usually takes less than 24 hours), so who knows how much more was to be seen (or deleted before it arrived to my eyes)... the DLand addresses get their share of SPAM, but I don't think they've bounced much and I do receive (and love to receive) mail through all of them (as well as emails notifying me of the notes you leave, and comments, though I recently turned comments off on the one diary where they were still on, and I probably will not renew my Supergold here at DLand due to too much comment-SPAM... the same might happen to the tag-board over at that same diary... that would mean only this gold membership for casa de candoor remains here at DLand...
anybody want to reelect him and his friends again? (forgetting the past means repeating it)... or just laugh at the folly or paranoia in powerful places...
sometime today, the cost of the war-thing in Iraq reached $178,178,178,178.00... now you know what day it is, or was when I wrote this... scary, huh?... well, how do you feel about this bit of news: the cost willl be $179,179,179,179.00 before the end of the week... ok, that's all the social commentary for today... you can go to work to pay for this now...

and if I give you $50 to buy $36 dollars worth of stuff, why do you think giving me $5 change is ok?... sometimes I feel like my generosity needs to be restrained in this world... but then, I didn't think that when I had much to give... maybe poverty requires restraint...
