2005-09-08 - 6:13 p.m. I finally turned off the news... I tried uploading this entry (and others) a few times already and DLand is playing some warped games with the coding... this will be the last try for today, and the other entries that would have been uploaded today will wait for the weekend when I have more time and patience... the last week plus has been kinda different around here and I'm not liking all the seriousness, so I'm looking for my Three Stooges repair kit and gonna climb a ladder or something... yeah, wise guy... anyway, here's the entry that DLand did not want you to see (as if it's personal, huh?... well, paranoia is contageous, after all)...
I was reading a few blogs, for instance, that pondered whether the people taking things during the New Orleans flood should be charged with looting (I'm not sure if anyone was even arrested for it, so take the question hypothetically)... and I realized that I was more interested in another question of law as I said in my comment: I am more interested in whether anyone will be charged with criminal negligence, culpable negligence (law): recklessly acting without reasonable caution and putting another person at risk of injury or death (or failing to do something with the same consequences). but then my head exploded... it was bound to happen, what with the 24/7 news being on in this space... I finally put my foot down today and unplugged the TV... I think my roommates think it's broken because the remote would not work... I think I need a dose of cutething now... anyway, not all of my comments have been so serious lately... though here's one that left me wondering if I should laugh or be concerned: now I've got Batteries Not Included -and- Short Circuit roaming through my head... and that dog stroller, I wonder if it will lead to dog-attacks-baby incidents... I mean, if a dog gets accustomed to cruising around in it's stroller and then sees a baby in one, or a couple cruising with their strollerized pooch decides to have a baby, who gets the stroller?... two strollers?... the dog is gonna understand that?... I think the FDA and PETA need to investigate... maybe even FEMA, since they don't have much else on their agenda these days... I thank the classic gift of homer, or humor, that gumphood provides in 98.974% of his entries (yes, he's occasionally serious... in fact, he's actually serious a lot, but it goes way over the heads of most mammals because he is, after all, smarter than the average bear... marsupial too)... I've decided that it was time to get my head out of the news and into something else for a while... how long a while is depends on lots of things, but let's try to make it through this entry before I find another soapbox... cuz there are other important things to do and think about in this world... CBGBs is a landmark, kind of like The Bitter End and The Bottom Line, in New York City... music began there... memories are housed there... amazing moments still live there... even though it's been years since I saw, heard, and drooled over Debbie Harry in that precious little club, the idea of it being gone is like another nail in the coffin... so I simply want to say stop sucking, NYC, and save CBGBs... cuz it would really suck if we let it fade into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame... I mean, come on, The Rolling Stones are touring again... if they can get their geriatric carcasses out on the road, surely we can sign a petition and do some picketing at the right place and right time and keep a place of magic like CBGBs open a little while longer... I seem to be having trouble dislodging these soap boxes from my feet... I read something like this and hope they never do procreate to pass on their fear-filled jeans (genes too) to unsuspective innocent children... does that make me a bad person?... well, I sent zencelt get well wishes today... and you should too... so I'm not all bad, right?... besides, I can always go over to my favorite moo and find cheerfulness (even when she's moaning)... I wonder if Lis has read this... since she introduced me to Death Cab for Cutie, the thought came to mind... it is good to get my mind off that one track it was on for most of the last ten days... see, it's still in there, just not flooding every path between my ears... this creative play helped )visual distractions, not X-rated, I think... and a burst of creativity almost popped out my my head, but instead, I kept wandering... and then I visited one of my first and favoritest favorites anywhere, autumnal (my wanderings obviously inspired by the burst of artiness as she is my retro-dream-artist-girl), looking for more escape into her literary world, which is a sure sign of good stuff going on in my head even if I feel kind of weirded out today... so in this odd state, and determined to remain distracted and rather shallow, I proceeded to random note some lucky folk (is that almost a rhyme?)... here's one now: I feel strangely odd today, kinda like you describe... it might be because I have not had caffeine for a day or two, and maybe cuz I actually slept more than four hours yesterday (so the cummulative fatigue rises closer to the surface?), but it wasn't a conscious decision... anyway, hello (add smiley face) that was insight into the fog, I think... the chenging of the chemicals... my liver nudges me to make note of the altered flow of poisons... my kidneys wonder where the flood came from... flood, there's that word again... dam... dam, yeah, I know... hey, at least we're not these guys... I just read some sparkspark and feel informed and amused... I like feeling informed and amused... kind of like I feel after reading geeking-out, who pointed out the CBGB soapbox to my feet (and lots of you out there in cyberland, though mentioning everyone in an entry might be less interesting to read kind of like this): and this is where I wandered this week... and this is where I wandered this week... and this is where I wandered this week... and this is where I wandered this week... and this is where I wandered this week... and this is where I wandered this week... and this is where I wandered this week... and this is where I wandered this week... and this is where I wandered this week... and this is where I wandered this week... and this is where I wandered this week... and this is where I wandered this week... and this is where I wandered this week... and this is where I wandered this week... and this is where I wandered this week... and this is where I wandered this week... and this is where I wandered this week... and this is where I wandered this week... and this is where I wandered this week... and this is where I wandered this week... and this is where I wandered this week... and this is where I wandered this week... and this is where I wandered this week... and this is where I wandered this week... and this is where I wandered this week... and this is where I wandered this week... and this is where I wandered this week... and this is where I wandered this week... and then you might not visit all the people worth visiting... it should be noted that this week's and this is where I wandered this week which is not preciely presented weekly, but it's the thought that counts, is innundated with serious news-type links... whether you need a warning before clicking is entirely up to you, but the knowledge is now yours...
