2004-09-01 - 10:26 p.m. speaking of namedropping... Wil Wheaton has a photo blog... I don't mention Wil here too often, but you know that's just because I'm not looking to bask in reflected glory or get your attention through superfluous name-dropping... the fact remains that back in our ST:NG days we had a very close relationship, though he probably doesn't remember because as advanced the technology was in the future, there was still a lot of distortion when he'd try to look through the camera into our living rooms... yes, I was a fan... odd thing is that as much as I loved that show, I am a bigger fan of his now... he's such a cool nerd... he's taught himself gobs of great technobabbly kind of stuff and seems to have created a happy life in and out of cyberspace... I'd love to play with his toys... and he has friends... I mean, how cool is that?... obviously a village did a good job of raising the boy, for his head is chock full of amazing and important and irrelevent trivia yet it still appears to be on quite straight (his head, that is)... one of these days I'll have to sign up for an account on his sites and let him know I'm out here so we can catch up on old times... the buzznet site is intriguing, even if it sends Avenue-A crap that my spybot protection software has to block... people (just look at all the friends and fans she has) pop pics upon the net like it's nothing and I'm going to have to figure out how to do stuff like that one of these days... s'pose that some equiptment like a digital camera and/or scanner and a compute that can handle graphics files and programs might help, but there must be a way to do it cheap and still look real (looking good is another story that usually requires some photo editing stuff and decent equiptment)... I haven't gone the photo route yet primarily due to lack of the right tools... I do not want to put up grainy distorted pics because that's not visually appealing to me... well Jesus, god knows, cheap commercialism is everywhere, as is namedropping... so here's some information about the dangers of cheese, in case you thought I didn't care or something... I was wondering about format a moment ago... like when I separate words into paragraphs is it better for you or does the senseless rambling appear more in conxtext when the words flow as one endless stream of consciousness... feel free to answer, cuz I want to know (which is why I am asking, ya know?)... so speaking of namedropping, someday she might be a big star and we can tease her about not knowing how to spell Jurazic Park and the fact that candid means not posed, as opposed to posed... hopefully she'll have a sense of humor about it (we'll know if she doesn't delete or correct the page, wink wink) and not become just another stuck up movie star blinded by adoring fans, huh?... anyway, keeping a diary online could be a good thing as it makes her seem more real, and yet, real is not always good for a star... if you've got the Flash plug in, wish her luck... there's more to this entry, but it'll have to wait... I'd have included lots more photo blogs in this entry, and lots of other cool stuff I found while browsing around tonight, but DDhelp or some such computer part broke and closed all the windows open to all those great sites... then, moments later, Explorer stopped responding... oh when will they build something on the other superhighway?... I know, get a Mac... alas, Macs do not fit into existential lifestyles too well... so 32MB of RAM is usually the culprit, but often it's the limited video memory or something like that... maybe I should call Wil and ask for tech support... .
