2006-01-30 - 10:21 p.m. mind dump #1000101 no wonder (why I love her and have adopted her and want to take her home and love her and squeeze her and... wait, that's a different cartoon)... click the link, click the song (not at work)... the strangeness, the shock, the huh?, but most of all the purile humor of the first song (if you are easily offended, don't go clicking, but then, if you are easily offended, what the heck are you doing here again?)... what does purile mean, anyway?... meanwhile, behind the candoor... if you blinked yesterday you missed three entries... I doubt there'll be three entries today, so if this entry is not enough to satisfy your craving for babble that is at once meaningless and profound (depending on your perspective), then do click back or click these links: 1 2 3... 3 is my can't hold back no more babbling about ROCKIN! (which is the SOAP! linked to the left and you really oughta start at the beginning)... I am happy to report at least a few of you have enjoyed it and at least one addict came forward to admit it's sugary goodness... 2 is, well, I'm not exactly sure what it is... I suppose this will be one of the things I come back here to add to one day (see later in the entry for the hidden meaning in this cryptic statement... drama is good, so sayeth the soap star)... 1 is about work... while I do love what I do, every now and then some venting of the emotional gills is required to maintain stability in the midst of the storms, especially when the systems (government, business, etc) work against the task they are created to accomplish... so you have a few different kinds of entries (serious, fun, and who knows) to choose from if this entry is going nowhere for you... this entry would not exist if I could tell you why the links and stuff in it were saved in my scribble files... I am at work again, after actually working for the past five hours (hey, sometimes I actually do a thing or two for the place other than keep an eye on the kids, which I don't consider work most of the time), so I don't have the internet to check out what the links link to so the why I saved them is a mystery... imagine if I did this with the thousands of links in my links/favorites folders on my various computers over the years... half the links would probably be dead since I've been stuffing links into a links folder for more than ten years... but anyway, this entry is going to clear out the current scribble files (not the links folders) which happen to have a few links cut and pasted into it too (usually because the computer was crashing or I wanted to remember the site based on first glance and didn't have time to explore or I wanted to link the site in an entry someday for some reason or who knows, maybe I liked the picture I found there... so anyway, what I intend to do here is write this entry and then, when I get home, visit the sites linked (where there are links) and see what I might see and explain why, if I can, the links was cut and pasted in the first place... maybe I'll get creative if I don't recall or have no idea, or maybe I'll just say I dunno and bore us all to tears... so in no apparent order, but perhaps not actually random, we shall wander through what's left in the scribble files and create an entry out of it... ready?... we'll start off with frogslife... I remember enjoying this guy's rambles way back at the beginning of time (well, not that far back, but years ago) so I wonder... I do remember visiting some photo sites (where they offer web space for organizing and storing photos) a while back when i was actually considering getting a camera again... up until Toronto I took lots of photographs... I believe I have a few portfolios still left in storage for models I shot and I know I have ancient books full of photos of high school people, kids, and my first trip to Disneyworld... I used to buy film in bulk and shoot hundreds of shots at a time with a variety of cameras in a few different formats... I started back in the day before automatic cameras were created, so checking lighting and setting F-stops and shutter speed and focusing with eyes (not to mention choosing the right film, lenses, camera, and filters) was just the natural thing one did if one was into photography... this memory and all the memories attached to it (and is it ever a flood of laughter and is coming back because I see some photo site links coming up (there are many and why these popped into my scribble file is anyone's guess, but I probably found a site linked and decided to save the site to check out the features for when i finally do have some photos to put online again... ... dotphoto fotothing photobucket flickr showstudio and then there's blogtree... I still did not make time to explore the site as much as I'd like to (or explore so many things as much as I'd like to, like blog-programs and using my own server and mySQL and PSP and all those techno things that would allow me to move my old databases and the rest of my written world online and therein start new ones and continue from where I left off years ago when it seemed that 4 MB RAM computers were all I'd ever need to organize my written gardens... that's always puzzled me... back in the eighties and nineties I was using Paradox 3.5 and MS Word 2.0 and 6.0 and hardly ever crashed, though I was not online... before that I was ever so happy with my Atari ST1040... but nowadays 32 or 64MB are not enough to run a word processing program and a database program at the same time, no less a browser and email program {no less audio or video, no less audio-blogging or putting video or more fancy techno-fun in here}... it really makes no sense to me that you can do less with much more memory than you could twenty years ago, but then, maybe this lack of understanding just goes to prove that I'll never be a true geek, alas... of course I was able to afford the cutting edge stuff back then... you know they had Digital Video Recorders back before Reagan was President, didntcha?... well, maybe you're not a true geek either... seems true geekdome has a time limit and if we don't keep up, we slide back into the masses of the techno-ignorant no matter how advanced we once were)... well there was a digression, wasn't there...
then this: when I was looking with calm affection you were searching out my imperfections what wasted unconditional love on somebody who doesn't believe in the stuff..." might have come from here, since the link was immediately after the quoted words and I'm not sure if that's a song or prose, but it sounds familiar and sure does hit home with me... especially the last two lines... little-babe followed immediately after the previous link, though I don't know if there's any conection or perhaps she had something to do with this particular trail of links in the scribble files (again lead to thoughts of lack of computer power as I find myself at myspace {anybody else notice that half the time myspace servers won't connect to the add a friend or other features [or the server is down for maintenance or repair in the evening] or is that just another limit of my computer?} once again and my inability to synch up with music and videos online much due to lack of computer power is thrust in my face... I must find time to get into geek-sites and study the techno-info so i can choose the right computer system for myself... maybe this year?... any geeks out there have advice?)...
and then I wrote this next bit about an internet experience most people have at least once if you spend enough time online (especially in public forums), but I never found a place to put it so it's here: back in the days of the old usenet where newsgroups lived and prospered (I have not visited newsgroups in years so I could not say how Google's takeover of the Usenet has effected them... do individual ISP servers still give access without Google?)... anyway, we used to call them trolls... my profound lecture on the art of trolling would have included a link to she blocked me... I think I was thinking about addressing some posts somewhere that were annoying a friend and the situation resolved itself so the link and whatever was going to come out of my head was left for scrap in the scribbles files... somewhere along the way I found it fascinating that mapquest let you search for a location by latitude and longitude and I realized that I could plot the map right to my doorstep, but then I thought that putting such coordinates online might not be the wisest thing to do so I'll give you approximate coordinates so you can visit and call for more specific directions - or just so you can go play with the latitude and longitude of your bedroom... when I visit Jes, I find myself wishing she was my sister...
in 1 Day there are 24 Hours... in 24 hours there are 1440 Minutes... in 1440 minutes there are 86400 Seconds... in one year there are 365 Days... in 365 days there are 8,760 Hours... in 8,760 hours there are 525,600 Minutes... in 525,600 minutes there are 31,536,000 Seconds... isn't time cool?... did you ever want to write to the pope? (yes, the one in Rome)... IP2Location.com offers a script that reads where a visitor to your site is from and tells the visitor like this: you can modify it to give more or less information and introduce it with any words you choose to write if you know a little about modifying a script... the following sites timed out (would not connect) for me a few times since December, if they work for you let me know what you find: tale.com ... alexlit.com ... figging.com... curiosity made me keep them... and then there's this next lyric that could expand much more than it does here, but time is running out so I'll just pop it in and maybe there'll be time to expand on this entry more tomorrow or soon or someday... It seems like yesterday I didnt know how hard I could cry It feels like tomorrow I may not get by But I will try I will try wipe the tears from my eyes I'm beautifully broken and I don't mind if you know it I'm beautifully broken and I don't care if I show it Every day is a new day I'm reminded of my past Everytime theres another storm I know that it wont last Every moment I'm filled with hope cause i get another chance But I will try I will try Got nothing left to hide Without the highs and the lows Where will we go? Where will we go? I am beautifully broken, I am beautifully broken I am beautifully broken and I don't care if I show it
thee's more, but time allows for only this today... maybe something clicked in you and inspired your smile (that's what we're here for, after all, among other things)...
