little things
yesterday I got serious (in my own odd way) about some of my favorite people (just some, many favorite people were not mentioned and they didn't even call to yell at me about it cuz they are so wonderfully secure and have faith in my love even when I am not stroking their egos and I love them all the more for it... though a few phone calls without yelling would be nice too, ya know?... laughing?... good)...
today is the birthday of a person I'd give my life for, but he may not believe that anymore... I tried to be a dad for him for a few years and I know he believed me then, but unfortunately his mother was not actually looking for someone who would stick around, she was looking for a sugar daddy and my sugar ran out... I haven't heard from her since I stopped sending money and she stopped letting him (and his siblings, who I love no less) talk to me before then... very sad story and reluctantly, as Tanya Tucker sang, I've learned to live and I wish to say...

always follow a plan
and promises we make sometimes
break beyond our control

we can't always get what we want, but we can always try... and I may have slipped a few days by without an entry just so this particular entry does not sit out on point too long as I do not want to spend too much time focused on the past, especially when it's a sad past (that's the makings of nightmares and I don't particularly want to make nightmares in my head)...
I hope you treasure those people in your life who you feel closest to... I hope you tell them every day how much you love them... I hope you write them letters (or poems or stories or something) or make them something tangible that represents your caring so they might always have something they can touch to remember your love whenever you are not there...
life is transient as far as we know... but love, the feeling inside can last as long as we live and longer in the hearts and minds of those we give it to... make the most of your love... give it in deeds, in actions that express it clearly, in tangible gifts that hold the memories of the beauty and wonder and good times...
it is more important than any of us know...
and to this day I do not think I did

but I still feel as I felt as a kid

and dare to give away a part
of what you're feeling
