hyper-sleep

staying at work late this morning (again) and getting home after 10AM... I still could have gone to the gym... but I got into watching Sliders instead (probably cuz it was the original cast and the episode was new to me)... and then I decided to eat,, which put off the gym for the day... but a few episodes later I finally got to see how the professor died and how the second girl was added to the cast... not watching prime time TV (I very rarely do) makes the reruns more fun as I catch them whenever they pop up... though I still find the story-lines rather far-fetched and all-too-convenient at times... especially in the older shows, like from the 60s and 70s (like The Incredible Hulk, for one)... I may stay awake for an episode of The X-Files, though it's not often i find one I have not seen... so anyway, it is a lazy day...

I am almost hungry again... a snack and some Code Red would be great, but then, none is in the house and it's probably for the best, especially since Helen is taking me to dinner tomorrow night at the Crazy Buffet, which is a big buffet that serves dozens of entrees including filet mignon cooked to order and roast duck and all sorts of seafoods and create your own stir-fry and mongolian BBQ and sushi (though as I mention in the most recent survey {I was wondering when I was going to mention that} I took, I don't really like sushi) and more... I probably should eat until tomorrow so I can eat some of everything (crazy, huh?)...

I'm hungry just thinking about it...

The Da Vinci Code arrived in the mail today, along with Cottonpatch Gospel (the book of the musical you may never have heard of, words and music by Harry Chapin), so that'll be my reading for next week... that inspires a big smile (getting back into my love of reading)...

I still have not bought a replacement CD-burner (just when I was scratching at the long (and repeatedly) buried love of music, it is crushed once again... the story all through this life, every time I start returning to music something happens to turn me from the path, which is why music is my life, not my livelihood (speaking of Harry)... and what with the shocking state of my bank account lately (I knew I was whittling away at my savings over the past year, but not noticing a suddenly balance drop of more than five thousand bucks over the last six months is not fun and not at all balancing, at that), I am remembering why I am so tempted to leave the material world behind, again...

either that, or find a sugar momma who wants to adopt me (patron of the arts, anyway?)... a winning lottery ticket would probably be easier, but then, it doesn't come with the fringe benefits that a sweet little sugar momma brings... alas, I am just not built for the games of this money-making world so I'll accept being existential (cuz that makes sense) and forego most of the luxuries of this material life... the occasional lament over lost muses, music, and creative stuff is tolerable... and often amusing...

at least until my super powers emerge...

meanwhile, I saw the particular episode of X-Files, the teenagers found a cave that made them super-fast... and while I would much rather have some greasy heavily spiced chips with a sugary drink or better yet, some chocolate snack like Kit-Kat or or M & Ms or Whatchamacallits or something with a chocolate shake...

pause to drool...

ok, where were we?... ah yes, instead of that decadence, I munched on some GoLean High Protein Cereal and drank some green tea (even as Steak N Shake advertises side-by-side milkshakes on the TV... yum, with hot fudge)... it was delicious too... and then StarGate SG1 throws me an episode I don't think I've ever seen... the Colonel wakes to find he was in deep freeze for 79 years... I am waiting for the twist, cuz there is always a twist... how lonely that would be, and yet, I often wonder when humanity will develop the technology to explore further into space and time and other dimensions and so on... those are the kind of career choices I'd dive into with excitement... where are the great adventures in this modern paper-pushing world... I do not mean conflicts, for any life-form with a mini-brain can excite itself with conflicts... I mean the thrill of discovery, exploration, learning and sharing the great party that is the universe itself...

nodding off happens anytime, by the way, like now...

so much of this life, especially the written partm is all in the mind... the mind is always free, even if awareness drifts in and out of consciousness from time to time (or regularly)...
