of course I doubt she meant for us to take it quite as literally as I just did, but heck, it's my interpretation and she or her powers that be didn't want me to be seriously irreverent and see things from my perspective, then as she and all the God people would say, he wouldn't have made me the way I am...


consider the logic...

by the same logic of the basic tenets of most religions, you can place the responsibility on God for everyone and everything from Adolph Hitler to Jeffrey Dohmer to the neighborhood child rapist... you don't have to like the fact that I point this out, but I didn't write the holy books and I did not create the omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent God idea, you did, or as you say, he did...


tell me about free will now...


you want to use that clause in the holy book to justify relieving your God for the responsibility for anything you deem bad, right?... be careful though, because it's way too easy for an atheist, agnostic, or anyone to use the free will clause to logically put a hole in any religious concept...


of course we could go for the ignorance plea now... that is, we are such ignorant nothings that we could not begin to understand the mind of your God so we just need to trust the blind faith deal we've got with him to believe that even the neighborhood child rapist (no less Dohmer and Hitler and so on) are placed on this Earth by God to test us or teach us something... sure, but what is that child who was raped taught again?...


oh dang, I was doing well there not getting flippant until that last questions... seriously, the logic wasn't flippant or in any was kidding, it's just one person using a mind to ponder the nature of things, your things, my things, every thing... but I was coming to the end of my little exercise in logic anyway, so I'll continue with the next thought now...


just one more thing... that last justification for why bad things happen to good people, you know, the we are ignorant and God moves in mysterious ways deal, well... logic flows from that too... if your God is good and even the worst pain or horror on Earth is at least passively authorized by your God, then we can not actually judge good or bad and have no business pretending we can by condemning people who think differently from us to subservience or imprisonment or death...



I'll leave that thought path open for wherever it may go for now and let Rasputin, who just found out that he will be going to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (it's one of his favorite favorites) on January 16th cuz I found Center Orchestra Row L tickets and bought them as a Merry Happy present for him (I almost bought the Left Orchestra Row B tickets, but that close to the Orchestra pit on the side can skew the sound and view and distort the suspended reality theatre experience while Row L Center is close enough to the front and the Center is great for losing one's self in the theatre experience), so he put on the video...


so we're watching and listening to Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat now (which is much better than the drone of commercial television that's been on all day cuz Precious absconded with my headphones, both sets, wireless and regular, and apparently my spare cheap sets too as they are nowhere to be found, so I must pick up some more next time I am at the store, so I have no way to immerse myself in music and shut out the TV)...
