some days are just like that... yesterday may have been, I barely remember... it is Tuesday morning, I think... most of my writing time this past week was usurped by Precious, whyo ironically dragged me out to see Return of The King, the third Lord of The Rings film... that was Sunday and I could swear I wrote an entry about that day, but apparently I did not for there is no such entry... at least not here... or anywhere else that I can find either... it wasn't just my imagination though, I did write about Sunday somewhere... anyway, Precious woke me rather early (around 11AM, which is close to the middle of my night) and the three of us were at the movies at noon... around forty dollars later we were seated in almost comfortable chairs (very comfortable for movie seats), and watching previews and commercials, and munching on popcorn...

it was great... the movie, I mean... long, yes, and it seemed to end at least a few times but then just reappeared with more story, like a song with several coda (and the plural for coda is?), but great... of course trying to fit a classic book into a few hours is pretty near impossible, so the extended film time was necessary and worth it... it was the best of the three, I think, though that might be just because it is the freshest in my mind... or maybe because it is the best of the three... in any case, kudos to the film makers for figuring out the way to make great sequels is to film them all together... and the irony of dubbing my newest roommate Precious has not been lost on us, huh?...

I meant it in a good way, not in a burden-you-carry-around-through-three-movies-only-to-drop-into-a-flaming-river-of-lava kind of way... really...

and suddenly I am remembering what the actors said about the comradery forged during the years of filming in New Zealand and I think I might just miss that comradery as much as they do now that I've experience all three films...

alas, some live the dreams, the rest of us just watch...

and after the movie we stopped at the phone stop cuz I wanted to get a case for my phone and the guy at the store that sells the phone says they dont sell the case for it... the Cingular Store... that is very strange... especially since just the day or two before when we changed service and picked up the new phones, the girl taking our order (and money) quoted the price on the case and other accessories and if I hadn't been awake for some forty hours at the time I'd have probably realized I actually wanted a case... ok, duh and doh... or vice verse...

trying to remember the day (for posterity, remember, and some special people) we had dinner at the Macaroni Grill which was excellent, even though they got my order wrong... they fixed it well, bringing more than I ordered (in addition to what I ordered) and did not charge for the extra food... a meal saved with class, which earned the waitress a nice tip...

getting home with with just a few hours left before I had to head to work and very little sleep the night before, I fell out for a few hours and stumbled out to work... then came Monday morning and there was no energy for an entry so I fell into bed and woke Monday afternoon... waking in the late afternoon hung over from the chocolate and caffeinated beverages consumed all the week before, not to mention not enough sleep... I somehow dragged myself to the gym and kicked my butt and then came the previous entry, a valiant attempt to keep in touch with you stalled by fatigue... and so I went to work again and now, here we are...

so there are more reasons I have not been rambling on as I usually do this week (what, you didn't notice?)...

so I sit down for a brief moment to check mail and find the phone is not working... in frustration, knowing I am not just rolling over and going to sleep now, I consume the other half the sandwich I was stuffing in my face just before work last night and wait on hold with the phone company... customer service transfers me to repair... musak... repair transfers me to the business office... musak... the business office informs me I owe big bucks and they suspended my service... they transfer me to collections... musak... while listening to the musak I ponder what might have happened... I gave Rasputin four envelopes to mail about two weeks ago when he was heading to the post office... one was for the electric company... the electric company received their check... the phone company says they did not... did the envelope (and check) get lost on the way to the mailbox?... or in the mail itself?... or at the phone company?... or the ether?...

alas, some days are just like that...

so I pay the bill by phone and the collections lady says she'll wave the phone payment fee and the reconnect fee and thanks me very much for choosing Bell South... as if I have a choice... now one of these days I need to call the bank and check on the check I sent (first I'll have to find the statement and the check number and all the rest... some days)...

so I'm sitting at Rasputin's computer (which I rarely use now that Precious is here, which means I almost never get to use the DSL line, so why am I paying for half?) typing off this entry because I wanted you to know I am still just as mundane and trivial as ever, even if I've been too busy doing other things to come here and update at the actual time of the day being updated... and right on time, I am nodding off... so this entry must be done...
