2004-03-18 - 10:18 p.m. another work day there is something to be said for putting the body and mind through a period of extended lack of sleep... probably something quite profound... but I forget... and later on, after more sleep than I usually get, and with no time to think, much less write, cuz I must get to work in a few minutes, but there is apparently time, with tongue in cheeck, slightly, to put more commas in one sentence than is laughable if I had a clever metaphor or simile to parody with which to my own babble... I haven't eaten much in the past few days... someone handed me a piece of cake at work yesterday... green cake for St. Patty's Day... other than that small piece of cake, I don't recall eating since the day before that and I think I just did veggies that day so maybe my subconscious is doing the right thing by this body... of course tomorrow is my day off and the start of my weekend and I usually pig out on weekends, that is, when there's no passionate love-making going on in my life... for those of you who've been here a while (or who read mostlydead, where amidst the whining, the body gets to speak a bit), did I mention I haven't been over 200 pounds in a few weeks?... so if I drop about twenty pounds I'll be healthy and just right according to my doctor... I have an appointment tomorrow morning... with the lab... fasting blood work... so I'll not eat tonight either... it feels good to fast now and then... cleansing... the kitchen has been a mess since it was last cleaned (when was that?... Sunday?... and we're heading into Friday now?), so there's no desire to head in there and cook anything... not to mention I'd have to wash the pots I'd need if I wanted to cook... and the counter... and dishes in the sink to have a sink to use... and floor... all in all though, an undesireable kitchen space works for me (until the bugs come to move in) as it keeps me from doing much about my love of food (and my tendency to use food for comfort and a substitute for other physical pleasures)... no time for the gym tonight... after the fifteen minutes I alloted for this entry, I'll be heading out the door for work... I hope to find me way to the gym tomorrow and start another cycle of daily gym workouts... hoping the gym is open again, since it's been closed all week... Nick at Nite reruns are on the tube... for a kid who used to love to read (or so she says), Precious is sure addicted to the TV... I guess it's one way to spend a week off from school when you're the new kid at school and don't have friends yet... but sitting around in front of the TV and eating and drinking Pepsi is not a habit I'm going to emulate... and I do slip my suggestions about changing the couch potato habit before her body gets any more obese and stays that way into adulthood... but being the other guy and not dad, dad's habits carry more weight and due to his work schedule (12-13 hours a day, six days a week) and back problems (constant pain, chiropractic treatments 2-3 times a week), he's sedentary away from work as well... not the kind of active exercise and health inspiring living situation that would be best for this body, but still, they are as close to family as I have in Orlando... speaking of family, I've got to call someone this weekend... but right now, I've got to head out the door... this may be the most mundane, boring, uninspiring entry I've put in this diary yet, but the good news is I am still here as daily as possible which is better than I've done with a diary ever and there's something good gonna come from that sooner or later... cuz there's always hope, yes there is... grins to all of you, and hugs if you're accepting them... I'll be reading this weekend, so write, ok?
