slowly nodding off before I really got here to make an entry, I've been setting up my new old computer (I suppose I should name them now that I have a few... that thought will be shelved for another time) and assorted other sundries (and worked most of the night), so this is not going to be a very long or stimulating entry (for me at least... I wouldn't presume to suggest what you might be stimulated by... to each your own, and all, and far be it for me to be judgmental... we've all got our kinks, after all... but this thought will be shelved for another time too)... I can sense the rhyming fool itching to come out here, but sleepiness is telling me it'll probably be nonsense (and sleepiness is a lot more sensible than the rhyming fool), so another time for that too... I barely have a cohesive thought at the moment and the light in the babbler's house may be on, but I don't think anybody is home (or we could have that in reverse, what with new fangled mental clutches and all, it's sometimes challenging to tell which end is up)... meanwhile, the cat is fascinating herself with the cap to something, probably something vital to our existence, but then, I don't think cats think much about our existence so whatever little clear plastic cap she's got between her paws that continuously seems to be batting around the room is now her property at least untiol another time when I am more awake and might notice the little plastic cap has some major value and hopefully the universe will survive... I may have too many irons in my mental fires at the moment as the list is growing (copy library CDs cuz they are way overdue and need to be returned, but new blank CDs to put the copies on and stop mopping about the stuff {which included a few hundred blank CDs, not to mention a few hundred favorite store-bought music CDs and a long list of other too-expensive-to-replace-right-now-so-resolution-must-wait-for-another-time things) Cruella stole, set up email program on new computer cuz half the emails addresses I use are currently bouncing cuz the old laptop ran out of disk space again, clear off space on the disk drive of the old laptop, get back to running more consistently, find me somebody to love, find out why the cable box isn't getting pay-per-view stations, decide which party to go to next weekend, buy some sort of wedding outfit for the wedding at the end of the month, get the oil changed and car checked out before driving to Chattanooga at the end of the month, put a new message on the answering machine cuz the old one was wiped out the last time the power went out, get a battery for the answering machine so the message isn't wiped out every time the power goes out, clean the fridge and throw out the moldy food Sally left in there, do laundry, get a better mouse for the new computer, check fantasy sports leagues, get another garbage can for the kitched cuz Sally seems to forget to bring it back out of his bathroom when he takes it in there to empty the cat little box, hook up the fax machine and fax those papers to the power company that they asked for a while back, set up the printer so printing can happen, get a USB hub and cable so the new old computer can have DSL, get an NIC card for the new old laptop so it can try to have DSL, update journals {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, at least), get music back into life, find a place and time to start singing again, remember the wantlist, remember to take the wantlist seriously again, mail out the rebates for the DSL {wait, I did that yesterday, yay, something done}, read and respond to email, especially consider the new development {messages from Toronto}, stop being so hungry all the time, consider doing something with the hair, put on the new shower head, take out the garbage, get the Western Union before they close to send money for the wedding, return those dang library CDs, wash the car, digest the past ten years, especially the past five or six, resolve loose ends, finish cooking the damn soup and and find some closure, make contact with alien life, remember the humor in Ellen Degeneres' HBO special, especially the part about procrastination), to name a few that my tired mind can come up with, but my mind is kind gone at the moment so I'll think about what is on my to do list another time... there really is a lot going on, much much more not going on that should be going on, but I really am kind of groggy right now and if I toss off the soft warm cloud of sleep to wake up I'll only get hungry and eat and that will spoil the weight loss program I started (but don't tell me I did or I will go right off it) cuz running with an extra few {or few dozen} pounds is a real pain and no fun and I am tired of being lathargic and want to enjoy this body again so I'll just fall over now...
