and suddenly (flowing from the thoughts in the last entry), a chord rang clear in my mind when I read this thought:

this is the truth at the foundation of awareness of human interactions... anyone is attractive if they are open and honest (and comfortable with themselves and intend no harm, but that, I believe, is a natural outcome of being open and honest)... the simplicity of the fundamental core belief (godhead) of my perspective/philosophy/way is ... honesty without harm...

in honesty I see everything...

(and I shall sprinkle in my beliefs now as I explore this)

honestly, the core desire of any being is to feel good... and define good as comfortable, secure, content, and free to explore as they wish... this is a state of peace, inner peace, and the first step toward euphoria (it is enough to be euphoria for some)...

honestly, we are alive in physical bodies with the ability to share so the core truth is we are here to share (the peace/good feeling)... if we were not, there would be no need for these bodies... I believe in the principle of no waste, that every action has an equal and opposite reaction, that everything in this universe effects everything else in this universe and our senses can only pick up a microscopic fraction of the interactions...

so naturally, to share, openness is the primary requirement (the more open, the more can be shared)... the more open, the closer to that peace/good feeling we can be...

this peace/good feeling is the most attractive concept and way of being and thing...

so to reiterate, the more honest and open a being can be, actualized in the physical space and time, the closer to perfecting the peace/good feeling one can be, and therefore the more universally attractive that being becomes...

we can call such an honesty/openness balance innocence or vulnerability or wisdom or by other words, but whatever word we choose to elaborate, re-define, or otherwise expand on the basic truth (at least this is my basic truth), it does not change the fact...

and taking this one step farther...

a soul is that which we imagine to be beyond our conscious senses, the feelings that we experience when we are exploring or approaching the states of peace/good feelings that seem too good to come true in this life (due to the challenges and limitations of the physical bodies)... few people seem to perceive this as an aspect of self that can be conscious and shared in clear, tangible, physical ways (except perhaps in romance which is the word we use to combine the feelings of attraction on emotional and physical levels)...

so for most, as I see most people from my perspective, a soulmate is one who touches the subconscious and unconscious place of peace/good feelings inside...

I believe that if one chooses to bring the subconscious and unconscious peace/good feeling into consciousness, one realizes that we are all soulmates, that anyone can feel like a soulmate, that all it requires is letting down the defenses and being open and honest enough to trust another to experience the peace/good feeling within...

the obstacle to actualization of this soulmate sharing in this world is human fear, fear of rejection, fear of loss, fear of usery, fear of harm, fear of pain, fear of death... the fear is compounded exponentially because each person feels it and deals with it individually (as we are individuals) thereby forming divisions of thought and walls between ways of dealing with and resolving and overcoming the fears... religions are formed when groups of people who choose similar ways of explaining and dealing with these fears get together... the conscious awareness of the peace/good feeling is buried in rules under the fears...

the fears become constructs, was of being, ways of thinking, ways of feeling... the constructs are written down and become laws and words of god and irrefutable truths that deny access to the very thing they seek to proctect, the inner peace/good feeling...

and the subconscious unconscious peace/good feeling is labelled light and love and given form by the words spirit and soul... so now we can talk about it, but we don't feel it...

and if we don't feel it, we can not share it consciously...

so when we get the inkling of feeling it with someone else, we call it falling in love (because we are falling through the conscious barriers we've created as a species over the years) and we consider the person who inspires and shares the feeling a soulmate...

and we create the institution of marriage to give us another layer of protection from loss of the person, who now is legally treated as property, because that is a tangible way of dealing with the reality of being physical beings detached from the truth that the peace/good feeling is within all of us, universal, and free for all to share if we set it free...

the concept of ownership of property comes from the fears of loss that bury the peace/good feeling... so even people, children, everything becomes property protected by laws and rituals and customs and layers of conscious rules that keeps us from getting back to that vulnerable, innocent, true place inside that knows the ultimate peace/good feeling is feeling comfortable, secure, content, and free to explore as they wish...

so in secret, in private, under the protection of ritual and law and cultural approval and societal validation, two people endeavor to take down all the walls and reach the place inside where awareness of the peace/good feeling...

and to bring this feeling into the physical sharing, the we open and trust another with our bodies sexually (and sex such a taboo because it is so obviously a path through the years of cultural walls and defenses built by fears around the inner euphoria)... the sharing of what we call sex actualizes the peace/good feeling in physical bodies and if we can leave the years of conscious barriers behind we can reunite with our own consciousness and feel that peace/good feeling and therein, if we choose, share it...

leaving most of this knowledge and awareness on the subconscious levels of our minds, we accept ignorance and powerlessness over this connection that opens us to the feeling we call love... and that leaves us free to act irresponsibly, irrationally, and dangerously in the name of love... and that provides more tangible evidence for our fears to justify more defenses and tighter groups of superficially like-minded people and further divisions and distance from the core of peace/good feeling inside each of us...

and it spirals out of control...

but still, for those of us who dare to put aside fear and see through the walls and remain open and honest about the inner light, love, peace/good feeling, there is hope... hope that, in time, people will see the futility and folly of their massive mental and physical constructs against fears that have, over years, been blown out of proportion... hope that people will stop shirking their responsibility to be aware and conscious in this life... hope that people will find courage and strength and wisdom enough to remember what they truly want in this life, the sense of comfort, security, contentment, and freedom to explore as they wish and that this can only be fulfilled if we are open and honest about life in the physical world...

until then, those who choose to open and be honest are in danger of being crushed by others fears (and the legal system that protect the barriers forged by fear) or, in some cases, elevated to spiritual leadership and even holy stature (if they have the strength to persevere and remain open and honest enough and they are lucky enough to survive long enough to be noticed by enough people)... either way, sharing is a challenge...

but sharing does happen, because...
