i worked out the table of contents for my 1st collection of short stories. i need one of those LED scrolling thingies they sell at costco embedded in the hardcover, so the book title can change every minute.

i'll incorporate the stuff below in my epic triad of novels: teh z?tl expansion, teh return of teh z0tl, chairman z8tl. then after everybody begs me on their knees to return and i win the nebula and the hugo awards, 8 years in a row, i'll come back from retirement at the ripe age of 88 and publish the undead scrolls of teh z?tl.

now then, kate's the chick who knew all about impermanence way before i caught on... if i need to hire someone to write the dialogue in my stories, she'll be the one! i'm thinking i'll start a company called Ghost Writing, Inc. and get going with open source writing on a global scale.

Kate: how horrified would you be if the person you were fucking started making animal noises?
Steve: what kind of animal?
Kate: are some more acceptable than others?
Steve: i would think so
Steve: like pig or seagull noises would be really odd
Kate: dolphins?
Steve: i would laugh and be slightly disturbed probably
Steve: would you like to make dolphin noises?
Kate: what if the person took the time to explain..? like what if you were fucking me, and i said, "this is the sound of a Labrador giving birth."
Steve: and then made the sound?
Kate: while making the sound
Steve: i think i would find that pretty odd
Kate: what if i said a name of someone that was very obviously not you?
Kate: like
Kate: "ohhhhhh, superrrmannnn. harderrrr."
Steve: that would probably be worse
Kate: what if it was someone really insulting? like... howard stern.
Steve: lol
Steve: i would be upset i think
Kate: awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
Steve: why?
Kate: just laughing about this out loud. none of it would ever actually happen...
Steve: things like that would be more acceptable, maybe not completely acceptable, if they told me beforehand i think. but i guess there would still be the chance of me being horrified
Kate: awwwwww. i wouldn't do any of the above to you unless i was really intoxicated and remembered, and even then, we've just had
this conversation, so you'd know i was just being drunkenly stupid.
Kate: at the look of your face, i'd probably apologize profusely anyways.
Steve: lol
Steve: i would laugh with the animal noises i think
Kate: names are harder to forgive?
Steve: i would say so
Steve: it depends how its done

Steve: that may be funnier
Kate: it's a very personal thing.

and of course we am (or at least I am and a few others are) reminded of the wonderful talent for dialogue that Alex shares every time I see blogged dialog... what can I say, no matter how enlightened I may ever become (not even to suggest I am so now), I may always be subjected to the ridiculous bias of the male ego and all that flows forth from it's loins... even from the beginnings and paths above and within...

and if we know what was contained within the Alexandria library (or the Mayan or Inca and before, for that matter), would we understand our nature any better?... and while we ponder whether there was any more simple start to sanity than the simple concept be good to each other and do no harm, no matter what the context or language or space or time, life goes on within and without us and time, conceptually and physically, goes by unless we are living in the moment (as a surfer rides a wave)...

I wonder when the last time a truly open mind made any attempt to read and interpret the original texts... I would like to meet that mind and explore who is contained within (and what, for that matters)... heck, I wonder aloud, does a truly open mind even exist?...

there's always hope...
