2006 Candor Communications

2006-02-28 - 11:44 a.m.

welcome to the mind of a babbling web wanderer

this shall be another entry made of scribbles and stuff (background for newbies: I almost always have a file open while at the computer and almost always have a pen and paper with me wherever I go and I cut and paste links and jot down words whenever... just whenever... and I call the files scribble files and the papers scattered pages) cuz it's time... often, as in this case, I do not have much in the way of notes with the links I saved so I'll either make it up as I go or I'll review this entry someday and fill in the probable reasons for my saving the links...

in other words, this entry will be even less organized than when I decided, quite spontaneously, that I would visit every commenter who left a comment to one of La Dame Hiss's (if that link isn't right, let me know and I'll check on it) and even that entry only got half done and awaits more time for browsing and rambling, probably in a part two entry in that time called someday...

anyway, here we have some websites or words or both that inspired me to want to save them... why?... well, until (and if) I find time to review, here's what comes to mind...

beyond42's name called out to me... I mean, I am always reaching for the infinite and if you don't know that the number 42 has significance for various reasons, not the least of which is Douglas Adam's use of it, well you've missed more than I can tell you in a single entry and should read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series and at least see the movie... in any case, anyone reaching beyond the answer for more is worth checking out for me...

and the next stop on this journey through relatively random stuff I am putting out of my scribble files is a court TV blog... at least that's what it appeared to be when I stopped by briefly... I probably was lead to the specific page I am linking here for a specific reason and it might make more sense if I actually looked at the page, but being here at work without an internet hook up I can only guess that I saved the page because the case interested me for some reason...

a lot of these links I save are impulse or even pages that I never actually got to but thought maybe I might want to at some future date.. that might make for even more oddity in an entry like this, but then, oddity is what makes life interesting, dudnit?...

this next link appears to be a video code for something and I sure hope it isn't x-rated cuz I'd probably warn you if it is... music-code.com sounds like it'll be a music video and I hope you enjoy it (my curiosity might have me coming back to this entry after I upload it to click on the links, which is a whole other odd way of writing and reading one's own diary I suppose...

this next link actually comes with a bit of reason written at the time I saved the link... I found more info on blog exchanges... nothing in great depth, but it's a start... and for those of you wondering, Blogmad is the latest (and greatest, if you believe the hype) link-exchange system out here on the web... basically, you sign up and your website address gets listed with all the others seeking a bigger audience and you (and others) can browse the other sites that sign up... being blog (diary, journal, personal page) specific is what I like about it and there are categories of blogs to help you browse sites you are more likely to find interesting (and be found by others looking for sites like yours)...

I just said omigosh to this link, which is rare since I am rarely left speechless and the fact that I did include a single word (and the nature of the word) leads me to believe that I was enamoured by the page...

the next two links are complete unknowns to me, blogger profiles (make that target="_blank">three) and I can only guess that they were linked on a blogspot blog that interested me (or maybe they left a comment on a blogspot blog that interested me) and blogspot links to profiles instead of to the blogs themselves, but that's still just a guess...

and the next links are a myspace profiles that's here for perhaps the same or similar reasons as the two previous blogspot profile links, which all the more leads me to think I'm gonna come back and click on the links in this entry and maybe even update this entry with another thought or few... you might want to use caution if you're at work...

and now we have six individual pages from four different diaries here at DLand that I have no clue about... they may be related, but just as easily they may have just coincidentally been browsed and saved in this order, not necessarily on the same days... so for whatever reason, if you click on the following links we'll be visiting with connie lass and silentmists and musicus-deus and goingloopy...

now loopy is an old favorite of mine (not to mention my current state of mind), so I'll be happy to endorse her page sight unseen... being made much of music myself, the latin music god holds appeal by virtue of nomenclature alone and I hope there's some musical inspiration there... I currently and often live in silent mists myself, so there's a name that intrigues... and since I saved two pages from connie I have hopes for smiles when I finally get to clicking...

speaking of music, don't forget Smed is updating daily and besides sharing his wonderful life and family, he's got music information to make a musicologist drool...

and send love now

just cuz love is the best you can do and you do want to do you best, right?... it makes sense to me... and I'd share a house with those four, so maybe they'll impress you as well...

I think I've included this next one in a previous entry somewhere, but any entry that was simply labelled shivers is worth another look for me...

this next group of diaries may have been a late ad to the commenters entry mentioned way back when this journey began, but they're worth mentioning here even if they were included in that previous entry...

I don't know la-the-sage, her-story, serenaville, or queenoftart well enough to give you detailed reasons for visiting them, but I definitely keep them on my list of diaries to visit when I have browsing time and am not in the mood for random unknowns (even though I love random unknown journeys most of the time)... I am always smiling when one of them come up in my random wanderings...

and when the next three are favorites I visit more often cuz they feel like old friends when I visit cuz I have read a lot of their words and wish they were friends offline whenever I do (read them)... even if radiogurl wasn't so musical, I'd be comfortable in her world... and the same goes for bornearly who's heart and creativity (and life) is warm and fuzzy and exciting all at the same time (and who'd musical talents are well worth buying)... and you know I love dandy if you read here regularly... so I am happy to find all these dozen or so diaries in my scribble files even if I have no idea just why I copied and pasted them there...

maybe I was just reminding myself to visit more (good idea)...

I've got a feeling I saved this photo cuz I was browsing the defective yeti's world and paused there... or maybe I was just pondering stealing the picture (or amused)...

anyone interested in forensics as a career (or colleges you might like you or your kids to go to), the following links might be of some use...

forensicpage aafs usf abpath aafs list cdc aafs career ed key princetine review article

I see I left myself the following reminder to remind you to add yourself to my myspace if you've got a myspace of your own...

and I think there was a song on qclark's myspace that I liked because I have song - voice written next to the link...

I keep this link around cuz it's Sippy (though it's closed now) and if you happen to know where Sippy went, please let me know cuz she disappears a lot...

I have no idea why I included this link to one of my own entries, but maybe you'll figure something out if you choose to read it...

I kept these SONY rootkit links because I want to remember to follow up on the story and never put a SONY CD into my computer, at least not until I am sure SONY is not secretly putting viruses or virus-like spyware software on their CDs that will screw up your CD and might give SONY access to your computer... talk about a company getting too big for it's britches...

I am pretty sure I keep ricklee's blogspot in the file to remind me to visit and enjoy the photos and to play the can you guess what this is close-up photo game...

and I remember kaye rambling on about music on my visit there, so I definitely set my mind to remember to visit again and hopefully this entry will help me actually do it... I have the following artisits next to her link: Decemberists, Stars, Athlete, Ron Sexsmith, Postal Service and since four are new to me I got excited (I love music, ya know?) and kept her link...

I also love books, so anyone who names a site Ms Librarian is not just getting a second look for the kink factor...

recalling an old Arlo Gurthrie song (actually, he made it famous but someone else wrote it... Paxton?... I forget), there certainly was a wake up call that said Good morning America, how are you and the answer was not so good if you were riding on the Journal of New Orleans...

whanever I start reading the news, I lightened up my news reading (which I try to avoid like the plague it is) by remembering to check news of the weird and snopes (and other cultural references and amusements listed on the left), if only to keep me from taking everything too seriously and remind me... humans are a very strange species...

neangel has been around since my first days here at DLand and I have adored her since our first contact... I think there are a lot of Dlanders share a quiet respect for each other from afar and most of those on my first diary's favorites list stay listed because of how they've warmed my heart and inspired me over the years... I really think you should check out every one of them (and there's an idea for an entry, a revisit to each one... so now I'm adding to my scribble file when I'm supposed to be emptying it... dang)...

ok, moving along, I remember that I was impressed and wanted to know more about the person behind the site (maybe it stimulated my love of children's books, if I remember correctly)...

anybody know what googlefight is?... seems google has a whole lot going on behind their search engine and I don't find time to explore as I might if I had the time...

I must have left a comment here since I saved the link... now I wonder why and hope to find time to get to this link and click... pure vanity or something worth remembering?... I have visited oomm before and find my time there worthwhile...

two things I meant to explore further (I used the first in a previous entry) are visited states and
google hacks when I have time to learn more web design... I think this numbers site falls into the same to do list...

ghisler... I don't know why...

for some reason derka derk is included with these links and South Park comes to mind with those two and team american as well, but I am not sure of just why...

along about the same time these two lyrical sites appeared in the scribble files, so they may be related...

reason to get a haircut?... well, right after that is something called The Bliss Club and I wouldn't open it at work even though I have no idea what it might be...

I have somebody's keys and I don't know why, but maybe Las Vegas Liz could tell me... or maybe not...

me again... I don't know why...

Orlando has a tribe... I think it may be something like craigslist, if you've been there... which is the idea I had back in the mid-nineties when I started all those groups but I did not take the time to learn the coding to create what I had in mind... several other sites have come along with pieces of similar ideas (building communities online) and I would explore them more if I had the time...

zaadz has an interesting name that, purely on account of the z factor, reminds me of z0tl (who does appear before and again in my rambles (and I am not sure why, but visionz will be included in this parentheses even though it was later in the scribble file)...

you don't want to know

a long time DLander found over at her blogspot home is definitely worth remembering and that's why she's included here...

I found joy and pain over at Live Journal and must have wanted to revisit...

and space and worldwidewords and this searchable tech dictionary were listed under references along with qubit.org and the more specific introductions and FAQ when I was exploring the concept of the quniverse some entries back...

next up for view is flylady... you tell me why... or why she was followed closely by specific entries from golfwidow, sally, and the first episode of Rockin! (at least I think that's the first episode)...

maybe a blogarithm would give us a clue (probably not, but then, it's an interesting word that can lead into all sorts of ideas, so I hope the site does too...

like Samsung! (which is not, at least to the best of my knowledge, any sort of advertisement for the company of the same name because it is a word with a meaning in another language and I'll leave it for you to find on your own (for those who love mysteries, build one)... hello?... the end.

well, the end of the linkages... and ultimately, the end of this entry... hopefully you enjoyed some or many of the pages and sites linked in this entry (and hopefully I'll find time to explore them further too)... this is one of the most fun things to do on the web, explore ideas and people and stuff I've not found before and revisit people and places I remember warmly... this entry is a mix of all that and may very well be the best reflection of what might be found in my scribble files yet...

where've you been? J
