I might have written this already, but sheesh, the slowness of the DLand servers, uploading entries, editing entries, leaving comments, etc is frustrating... it did not seem this slow before, but then, I wasn't into comments nearly as much... I know part of it is because my diary has gotten huge, but it's still frustrating to sit and wait when my mind wants more stimulation or my fingers have ideas to play with and much more to say...

anyway, I am finally catching up on the notes I've jotted down this week, my heart goes out to my dear hissandtell who lost a dear member of the family... for Patchouli:

and we lose more by not trying, than by trying and failing (this sudden philosophical moment was brought to you by your recent entries and you know who you are, but I don't because I forgot where I left this note or comment... ah, I am so disjointed sometimes... but that's good, cuz it keeps me free)...

in the true meaning of you don't know what you've got till it's gone, clarity25, the diary, will be coming to an end in a few months... in the true genius of sharing gently, honestly, creatively, and passionately that it's author is, she is letting us know... she is one of you diarists out there that makes me so wish we could transport through space and share a drink or meal or if but for a momentary hug... I hope she and her husband move nextdoor... I'd eat all his mushrooms and all her carrots...

this may seem like a strange question (anmd may be asked more to segue out of sad news into irreverence than to know) and is most certainly rhetorical, but am I being immoral to admit that I love this girl?... seriously, I love her... she needs to pass on here genes...

I found a girl with a journey and a story to tell... I hope the story turns out to be long and she gets to tell it it all...

in spite of his busier than ever life these days taking care of family displaced by Hurricane Katrina (he's has 200+ family members in the path of the storm, most in the New Orleans area... err, I mean he's got 200+ family there, though most are at his house now {ok, that's an exaggeration too, but at least it's not a mistaken identity... of course I was just checking to see if you were reading, dear readers, uh-huh, you know... thanks for the correction and reason to laugh at myself, dear reader)...

anyway, Jay still found time to share fun (music is fun for me at least)... thanks to raida for turning us on to this site where you can enter a tar in the search engine (from 1960 to 2001) and get a list of the top 100 songs (according to Billboard, I think) for that year... I know I'm not following the mem-like instructions (enter your high school graduation year and highlight or bold the songs that means something to you, italisize the ones you don't remember, and leave the rest alone) because I don't want to think that much or do that much HTML at the moment... what I did instead was provide you with links to the top 100 songs for the years 1960 to 2001 right here:

I have no idea who I left this note for:

something is fascinating me, could be I'm dreaming, asleep at the wheel or alone too long... something is captivating me, could be I'm singing, waking up inside or lost in a song... maybe you are beautiful, too beautiful for words, maybe you are something comforting... maybe you are wonderful at everything you do, maybe you are a reason to sing... sometimes is attracting me, could be I'm silly, making up stories or bored with today... something is appealing, see, could be beyond me, something I'm feeling but somehow can't say... ... ... so much for random noting, huh?

see, I was browsing around and nodded off and woke from my own personal la la land with a screaming hardon to be hugged and held and well, you know, cuddled and comfortable and I found my cursor in this note box and started typing... I remember the image of a girl, a very beautiful girl (at least to my eyes, absolutely adorable in every way) and I could not tell you for sure if I was dreaming her or if an image I saw through sleepy eyes was retained by my visual cortex...

anyway, I suppose I'll have to get lucky and find that diary where I left the note again (or maybe that diarist will find me... heck, I might have left it for some big burly truck driver for all I know... I know a truck driving poet who has a DLand diary... and there's a rumor going around about a certain gump and his affection for certain football players, but I personally never noticed anything odd about his locker room antics... and the pink towels were a red sock accident, I'm sure)...

unfortunately, this desktop can not handle Windows Media or ICQ or graphic-filled pages... with just 64MB of RAM and an old video card (not to mention a 300mHz CPU), locking up and IE crashing occurs with great regularity... say every hour of usage... the real sad thing is that I've grown accustomed to the MS products crashing this often... Firfox requires more memory and speed than this thing can muster, so I am stuck...

poverty sucks...

and just when you thought I left social commentary behing, here's some stuff that raised my eyebrows and, in some cases, my ire this week...

and what's all this about human development, love, and understanding?... this year could have been better...

four year and trillions of dollars later and we are still not prepared...

you do not know most of the real news, because the news is censored by the military and national organizations who have the right to censor news... you know the term... national security... classified... all the rhetoric that stirs fear and paranoia in order to maintain centralized control of the power and money... did you think only oppressive dictatorships have such prisons?...

of course I did find humor out there too...
