2005-04-14 - 9:09 p.m. tell it well noticing another beautiful escape from the appearance of being one of the many to the appearance of being out there on one's own, I find myself pondering the end of days... no, actually, the influence of the TV has that last thought slipping into the mix... some show called Revelations or maybe it is The Revelations... anyway, if you can swallow quite a few assumptions and the basic ridiculousness of the fear of death and sex that drives most good vs. evil religious stories, then it might be something to watch if there's nothing else to do... alas, where are the good writers these days?... snippet:cute young girl wears low cut jeans, has a fake tattoo on her hip, and says "Jesus" when her father tells her to wash it off and walk (or run) to school in the rain (because washing it off will make her miss her bus) and while running across a golf course in her clear poncho (must visually emphasize the scandoulous clothing... right) to get to school she is struck by lightning... twice... be careful what you wear to school, little girls... and the same fundamentalists cry out about sex and violence on television... ok, so I was reflecting on another DLander leaving for a domain of her own and another diary/journal/blog product... what I don't understand is that there is still so little individuality in the sites I find using the shelf products for creating journal sites... but it's the same thought that comes to me when I look at the massive software programs for web publishing... so much ego, I think... code-ego, I call it... so much bulk, so much fat and grissle around such simple code to get virtually the same look (newspaperish, I call it)... but that's not meant to be critique, since I create a very similar look on my sites with basic HTML... it could very well be my ignorance of advanced scripting and code that bring me to my perspective (we can seldom see things through any eyes but our own), but then, there may be more truth to my thinking than even I know... anyone not as ignorant as I is welcome to enlighten me... it seems to me we all flow in the same way, creating or finding different rivers, trying to believe our rivers are better than other rivers, forgetting we all empty into the same sea... from the dust that makes the stars and back again, our journey through the universe is what it is... our perspective makes it the drama or the folly or the irreverence or the profound experience we perceive it to be... and I am thinking now of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and hoping that the movie makers did not destroy Douglas Adam's irreverent perspective on the universe in trying to make a dramatic comedy that will appeal to the masses and make them money (isn't it amazing how links suddenly appear between the first time you read this entry and now?... what, you were late?... it's all good)... obviously my mind is wandering a lot tonight... I shall return later to continue rambling, but the phone just rang which means it is time to pick up Precious and consider some food... but first, I shall release some stuff... are you thinking?... and if you look to the left, you will find a link to Harry Chapin lyrics and who better to be lined up with the suggestion, nay plea to do it well, nay, the urgency to tell it well... for we can all learn and must learn to survive and we all learn from the stories we tell... your story can change lives, may even save a life, or many lives... the world... the universe (don't laugh, {and definitely don't panic} anything's possible... eep)... wanna go for a ride?... you do have your towel, right?... there is much beyond telling and much more to tell and much within that may never be told because the words are time consuming and there is a finite time in the rhelm of this life as we know it but somehow, somewhere, there's a place for us, somewhere a place for us to find time and understand the true meaning of it and that and this too in the context of everything and whatever is beyond the concept of infinity and the other concept of eternity, so there you are, wherever you are, and all we need is love... and hope, but without hope, there is no love, so all we need is love because it comes with hope built in, or love is built uponh hope, or something like that... logisitics are for dreamers... and tell him you love him, so he won't feel alone... you know, I've been referencing that line for a while now and with increasing frequency in recent entries, so I wonder... does anybody actually remember Melanie?... the web frustrates me sometimes... or maybe it's humanity, since the web must be modified to suit humanity... I refer to having to register and wait for an email (which means opening an email program and downloading email and so on) and finding the password just to be able to leave a quick message that is no longer spontaneous or cute or clever or even on my mind when the email and password is finally accessed and I remember I once wanted to leave a message somewhere... anyway, I did try to tell her I have always loved her, so she wouldn't feel alone or unappreciated, but unless she reads this she may never know... ok, search for yourself Melanie Safka, so you'll know... it's still all good... ironically, all night the Stargate and accessories (the shows spun off and surrounding that show, in other words, Friday night Sci-Fi station fare) has been blaring in the background on the TV and this site is the first site on my wanderings since last shutting down the laptop (yesterday, or the day before, I think)... for what it's worth, I like these sort of ironies...yeah, still all good...
