returning to babbling (part 1)

I know I am too inconsistent in my commenting and keeping in touch with people to attract and maintain a large audience and frequent commenters like some of the people out there (some who may actually read here now and then, and I'm flattered you do)... I keep it confusing, or ridiculous, or somehow impersonal, perhaps... enigmatic or superfluous or some such tone that creates distance... maybe the truth is I don't want intimate daily contact with anyone (oh, but I do, I so do)... I imagine I confuse you...

but then, words are such imprecise tools sometimes when we have no other methods of communication... and when we seldom even have words, alas, the best we can do is create some faith inside that we care even when we are not here cuz we do check in with each other when we have some time...

at least that's what I do...

anyway, so far nine or ten entries blinked out at the world and wondered where the world went and if as more pop out into the silence, well, that's oddly depressing in some way when the manic rush of the flood of words comes back down to Earth as it often does after a couple of days of concert rushes and magic and sugar and caffeine...

so I tremendously appreciate you guys who did stop by to acknowledge my uploads...

and overall, here at diaryland, all of us on our respective long or short favorites/buddies lists (mine remains over 120 in spite of dozens leaving as another dozen or so arrived from who knows where as I'm hardly here, yet all but a few remains as silent as I do at their diaries these days), as we ponder or lament our mutual absence, (so much pressure to appear, to perform, to be present and heard, no doubt... the blogging life brings us to the fast lane of contact and communication and time away aches in places we seldom, if ever, bring to conscious awareness if the offline world {so much honest hunger is considered weakness, neediness, and even selfishness, no less} and yet, here it is slipped amidst a rambling opening amidst a rambling series of entries and whatever, it's past in this briefest moment), I wish we shared more, but whether we do or not, you well...

I mean, in case you ever get back here to read this...

these sudden floods of back-entries often leave the words in obscurity, gathering dust until posterity comes along to notice, if it does... so in some ways I write to future people when I am engaged in this catching up process...

hello future people...

have we learned anything about living in peace and sharing all the world?...

anyway, after the recent six entries inspired by a Friday night concert and whatever else passed through my head (not including the placeholder last entry), I did not sleep, but instead (since we are all so fascinated by the sleep deprived lunatic), I spent the time between concerts setting fantasy football teams and napping briefly...

adding concerts to my going out activities this year was definitely the best thing I could do for myself (though my wallet is sniffling in my pocket cuz it misses it's best friend, money... it's a sensitive wallet made out of fake eel skin or something) because previously there was dining out to get out of the house and that's about it and that's definitely too one dimensional for mind, body, and everything else...

returning to the world of live music is the best thing for the body, for sure...

and the mind and energy (spirit, soul, anima, ka, whatever word we choose to represent the ethereal aspect of being) follows suit (in dramatic fashion if you follow along in the physical spaces.. alas, but nobody does today) as it can experience this physical life more fully as the body experiences the physical life more fully (so obvious, yet so ignored by most, which is the single saddest and most limiting choice humanity collectively and individually makes at this time in human development, but that's a rant or lament or clinical analysis for another day)...

so yesterday (once upon a time) was the Deland Music Festival and I didn't get to it...

bummer, but the 30 Seconds to Mars concert mattered more today... and spending the night here rambling for the multiple entries that preceded this one was basically the trade off for the muses in me... ego is very happy, though the rest of me is lonelier than I might have been had I gone to the festival and met the soul mate of my dreams... or anyone for that matter...

and while strong loud voices in my head (the same voices that get me out of the house and back to real life in real time offline) remind me how foolish it is to remain so enamored with this online world (hey, the babbler needs a home and loving too, not just ego, so the physical world voices, with all their real world real time power and logic, have a strong opponent in my head {beside ego who is only out for itself... the other voices convince me that there may be some worth in my writing, if only to rejuvenate me, energize me, and keep me returning to the real world in real time with renewed vigor and enthusiasm and hope} and maybe that's what balance is all about)...

ah, if only the day was 42 hours long as I've often requested... dang universe doesn't pay attention to the memos I send... I also, in the time away from rambling here, napped and woke with just a few hours to spare before the evening concert and so I did the fantasy sports instead of driving an hour and a half to the Deland Festival and spending a half hour at the there only to have to drive at least two hours through rush hour traffic to get to the Hard Rock... just not enough time, dangit...

the 30 Seconds to Mars concert was excellent...

Cobra Starship opened and had the crowd bouncing and screaming within ten minutes... the lead singer has a great stage personality and potential, though he does beg a bit much, but that is the job of an opening front man so all in all, great job... Cobra was followed by Receiving End of Sirens who were very disappointing... their sound was garbled and came off almost like white noise, or perhaps gray noise, and it's effect was to put the crowd to sleep... ironically that is probably exactly what the venue (Hard Rock Cafe) wanted because their big signs banning moshing, surfing, and cameras were all over the place once again and a band that does not touch it's audience with clarity has fewer energized people and therein less chance of the banned activities (but wait, Mars landed and changed everything)...

the audience re-awoke muchly for the third band, Rock Kills Kid, though the sound system remained questionable as the overdone bass and reverb and buzzing combination continued to distort the sound... maybe it was partly on the groups themselves for trying to put too much music and affects into the sound system, but they have much room for improvement...

then came Head Automatica who found a way to better clarify their sound so at least there were distinctions between instruments, but the vocals were still a bit too buried in the collective sound... they, like all the other bands, thanked Mars for taking them on their tour as if they thanking their fathers for taking them to the toy store... nothing like winning the an MTV award to get you to god-like status in this current music world...

hopefully somewhere along the way the opening groups will take the lead of Cobra Starship and feel a sense of pride at being there and thank the audience as much as being thankful for being on Mars's coattails because it came off much like corporate kissing ass to me... but then, I find a whole lot of that in music these days (which makes much of their edge rather false in spite of, or perhaps because of their very limited adjective vocabulary... really people, there are so many more expressive and even shockingly edgy adjectives to use beyond the fuck word and using fucking {or fuckin} in every sentence is not impressive to anyone with half a mind, especially when most sentences are less than five words to begin with... but we fucking love you guys)...

ah, maybe that does sound cynical and I am much too amused and happy to be ranting just now... oh so much more I am floaty (as opposed to bouncy) and maybe a bit closer to the nostalgic soaring (with a touch of misty, lingering from the grumps that I dumped over in RealTime a few entries ago as I released my first reaction to seeing a local production of A Chorus Line...

see?... I mean, just look at all those wonderful adjectives... so much more descriptive than if I simply said fuckin this and fuckin that all the fuckin time... sheesh, kids, fuckin show your fuckin creativity and mutha fuckin talent and not just your lame-ass ability to follow those with limited vocabularies blindly like the very stuffed shirts and fakers and posers you claim to be rebelling against in the first place (and my free advice to rockers concludes for now)...

meanwhile, where were we?...

well, we'll pick up on it, whatever it was, in part two...
