random commentary (part 1)

these entries (that this is but one of a series of, in fact) might be a gold mine of tid bits of information and secrets or it might be a meaningless tour of the things my ego keeps around for whatever reasons, but the words that follow are cuts and pastes from comments I left here or there or somewhere and some other stuff from the scribbles files... and if you see a comment I left for you, hopefully it's value remains for you and you find the smile I feel because you inspired words I felt like saving... and now, the on to random commentary...

some time during the summer I bought turkey bacon and I didn't even eat it for Thanksgiving...

if you've got money, it might be consumer heaven... if you're poor, it may be consumer hell... it's Black Friday and I'm gonna keep checking it out to see if I can find a good deal on something I actually want (and make sure it's something worth buying for me... for instance, the Wal-Mart laptop sale may look great, but without a PCI slot, it's very limited and not for me)... I think there may actually be some wild consumer-type person buried somewhere deep inside of me... of course anyone who's ever gone shopping with me would laugh and tell me I should bury my wallet when I go near a store, but hey, stuff is fun and money isn't, so in my mind I'd be a fool to hold on to something that isn't fun when I can trade if for something that is fun... and next semester I'll be teaching the course in consumer logic, 101 and the University of Uwanawegacha...

I especially love techie stuff... and music and audio-video stuff... and objects that have no little or intrinsic value except to be cleverly designed... I miss my storage stuff now...

. . . something goes here . . .

yes, that actually means I will return to this entry and add what is supposed to go there at some future time... I might mention that I did in some future entry, but probably not... posterity may be the only audience for such babble, or the maniacally obsessed stalker or perhaps, my dream lover (come to me), but even if it is never noticed, it will appear, eventually...

meanwhile, I have no idea if I am an alexaholic or not because I am not taking the time to click on the link and explore at this moment (and I have no idea whether I might at some future time) and I have no recollection of just what was there or why I cut and pasted the link into this babble file, so that's all I've got to say about it for now...

and for those of you who say you want a revolution, yeah, I know, we all want to throw an elephant into a black whole...

speaking of slaves and sycophants (a phrase I shall incorporate in a lyric any moment now as I have already), Precious and I were having a discussion of the nature of humanity and how most live in denial, avoiding responsibility or any acknowledgement of awareness of anything bad happening around them and we remembered the following (and within 24 hours I found it on someone's website without searching for it at all... syncronicity)...

In Germany, first they came for the Communists
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist.
Then they came for the Socialists
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Catholic.
Then they came for me
and by that time there was nobody left to speak up.

Rev. Martin Niemoller (1892-1984),
German Lutheran pastor and opponent of Adolf Hitler

for the record, they that Martin refers to above are not the they I refer to when I ramble on about them (or they) later (and I will, trust me), but now that I've pointed it out it may be challenging to separate the thoughts, therein demolishing any potential humor the future they or them-they paragraph might have, unless you are like me and read as I ramble forgetting the last thing I said, mostly, or unless it's actually funny...

yes, look for the silver lining, the positivity, and most of all, the humor cuz that is the spoon full of sugar that helps the medicine go down and I do occasionally pour medicinal stuff into my rambles, usually without planning it, because I was an EMT once upon a time after all and I have worked in hospitals most of this life except for the 90s when I wandered around kind of like a cross between Jack Karouac and George Plimpton and that other famous guy who wandered around...

. . . something goes here . . .

yeah, there too... see above for the explanation if you've forgotten already... and as if I planned it all along, we follow that with yet another secret I've forgotten... that is, I have no idea what is beyond the link because, aagain, I've forgotten why I cut and pasted it and am not taking the time to click and explore at the moment...

kind of like most of you...

nyuk...

. . . something goes here . . .
