after everyone went to sleep I took a shower and a walk in the woods and that was magical... the sun was rising and I embraced the morning the way I used to when I lived life without a schedule, without a clock, without the burden of daily bill paying... I napped an hour or so before waking Rodney and heading down to see what I could do to help him and Phil get the second day going, all the while learning (and remembering) the ins and outs of what makes an outdoor multi-band concert go... after some clean up and helping J-Bird set up his equiptment for the second day, I made a trip to the store and bought stuff... again... I really must remember that money no longer grows on trees in my backyard... but then, not all the time...

it's good to forget sometimes too...

I picked up frisbees and water guns and bubbles and charcoal and other stuff that said I paid my dues (literally) and wanted in on the party at the inner circle... and the door opened and what's left to say but yay...

there were three kids from Full Sail (a local music technical school) who helped the sound guys so I was free to wander wherever I was needed (and have fun in the process)...

the music started and the day was beautiful until, as is so usual here for Central Florida afternoons in the late summer and fall, but not so expected in the Spring, the sky opened up... mother nature watered the grass really well for a couple hours, which forced the music to move into the barn and into a three car garage (the tent on stage one blew down twice, the second time it was beyond repair and the musicians and others sat under the tarp on stage with the drum kit acting as the center pole for the duration of the storm... kind of like making a tent out of blankets in bed, only on a stage a lot bigger than a bed and with a lot more people)... they finally got the whole stage one moved into a three car garage (which made for really amazing acoustics)...

meanwhile all the details of the day become a mosaic in my memory that words are not going to even attempt to express, at least not now... by sundown the rain cleared and I took over the entry table to so the people who had sat there up until then could wander around and have some fun... rain started up again, but it was still a good night...

unfortunately, the rain delayed the bands enough to push a the limits with the neighbors and therein, authorities, and we had to pull the plug on a couple of bands (unpleasant business, but that's life with humans in this world)...

after the place cleared out Rodney and I sat up with the stars and moon and trees and night life for a few hours, occasionally guiding passing others to safe places to sleep or play through the night...

it was as long a day compared to most days as this entry is short compared to most entries... and fun, did I mention fun?...
