I just spent ten minutes searching for news of yesterday's Canadian election... I went to a search engine, typed in "canadian election results" and came up with sites that gave the results for the 2000 elections and sites that gave news about the U.S. elections and sites that were topic specific, but who won?... I had to scroll down the page of the washington post to find a blurb about the federal election results for the Canadian elections that were held yesterday...

and speaking of conspiracy theories, I wonder if that is because the Canadian Prime minister and government is liberal and anti-Bush... conservative power base ruling the news we can read?... on the other hand, there's the fact that an ad to help elect Kerry is the first ad Google provided on the Washington Post election news page... the liberal media showing it's ugly head?... I think it's all poppycock and geared for, as P.T. Barnum might say, suckers...

but just because I think that, in general, politics is for poppycock suckers, that doesn't mean Canada doesn't exist... I was just amazed that the day after federal elections in Canada, there were no headlines about it on the major U.S. news websites... that it should have taken time and scrolling and searching to find out who won... I did finally find it and realized I should have skipped U.S. news sources and gone straight to a Canadian newspaper instead, but hey, what can I say, I am an American...

and as an arrogant American, I apologize, Canada...

you deserve better...




ok, so maybe it's just that search engine spiders do not update in real-time as quickly as possible, but I still had a trickle of rantjuice left over from yesterday so... anyway, to cap off today's cynicism, to all the closed minded control freaks who applaud thought control and limiting rights and big brother policies and don't see that it's that very mindset that creates the negative-feeding loop infested with imbeciles afraid to think for themselves and confused by their own feelings and angry because they feel helpless and therefore to be told what to do and will believe in anything that everyone else says is right... wish you were here...
