and another day... I've yet to get out to run or to the gym, having just woken a few minutes ago and still feeling groggy since I was awake for most of the previous forty-odd hours and yes my hours are odd in case you were wondering about the semantic details and sleep was less than the nine million hours it would require for truly catching up on sleep (if that is ever possible), so I decided to come here instead to shake off the blahs and wake myself up inside (cue song) and inspire a wonderful day (now as noon approaches)...

aside from the wonderful sex I had with myself yesterday (not to mention this morning), I did not do much else... I did experience the irony that was linked yesterday in terms of the #2 experience, but this entry appears heading down a degenerative enough road so I will not get into the details and leave that for you to re-read in your imagination with this simple bit of advice: a glass of prune juice and plenty of water works wonders...

I slipped one point ahead of Rasputin in the Fantasy Basketball league yesterday and today the sly fox slipped one point ahead of me... four days to go and it will come down to the last games, the last moves we make... since he's gone until Sunday night, he appears to have accepted the fate of his lineup as he set it while I have the option of tinkering and altering fate... so win or lose, I will forever be able to wonder what would have happened if I did not make last minute changes... fun, of course... I already locked up one of my leagues, so I have a chamionship so I can join a Winner's league next year... I appear to be heading for a fourth place finish (out of 18 teams) in the third league which had so many teams and roster slots that there were no available players to grab throughout the season and the luck of the draft was all that the standings could be based upon... key injuries (and you may recall, poor draft location) kept me from moving higher than fourth, but still, I feel good about 4th out of 18 in that set up... and over in baseball, my teams are starting out pitifully (3rd {out of 4}, 10th {out of 12}, and 11th {out of 12}, ya see?) and I hope to see a turn around by the end of the month so I don't have to look for the big red don't panic button... all my supposed superstars are starting out as if they should be sweeping out McDonald's bathrooms instead of playing professional baseball (especially my pitchers... I finally got my first win and save in any of my leagues yesterday), but that could easily change in the next week or two... they might be demoted to Taco Bell...

ah, the fun of games and numbers and chance and tinkers and evers, oh my... yeah, go ahead, name those references, I dare ya... what?... tinkers and evers and chance, oh my? (there, I made it easier for you... and a one and a to and a)... wow, look at all the shiney bubbles...

I am listening to Amanda Marshall right now... she reminds me of Melissa Etheridge (which is a good thing), who just happens to be playing in town tonight and if I had an extra $75 and/or somebody who'd motivate me to want to spend that imaginary extra $75, I'd be sitting a few rows away from her as she breaks into a sweat... she and Richie Havens are the two artists, other than local unknowns, who have perspired on me the most in this life... I feel honored...

the phone woke me earlier, but I fell back to sleep... it was Nad and I smiled cuz I hadn't heard from him for a while... he is supposed to be coming down in July (and I'm wondering if that will be the same week I promised Helena I would house sit... hmmm, I wonder what she would think about us staying there instead of here if it's the same week)... I still have to call Minnie back too... I see that my aversion to making phone calls still lingers... jerk (me)... alas, at least those who know and love me understand... it does present an obstacle in reaching out and adding new people to this life... social?... yeah, once upon a time I was a butterfly... Lenny Kravitz sang that to Lisa Bonet, non?... apres vous, again...

and I just remembered that I have my last live draft (yes, fantasy baseball again... and laughing I sing out somebody come and save me from this solitude already... or at least join in the fun) in what should be the most challenging league of all because of the 20 stat categories (like assists, errors, holds, and other stats nobody pays attention to in fantasy sports)... gonna be my favorite challenge, I think, if enough people join the league to make it interesting... doesn't seem to be much interest out there in DLand, but you're all still welcome if your computer can handle the live draft (or, just remembered, you could set your draft order before the draft and let the computer make your picks according to who is left in your pre-set order... that is what Sally is doing)...

ok, enough of this silly banter (not all silly, why how kind of you to say)... I am going to tuck my tongue firmly back into my cheek now and get on with doing something with this day... I'll be back later, since I have five hours before the draft, but I will explore the sunshine and lollipops for a while... I hope you have as much fun too...
