lazy day

if I already mentioned this, well, I'll do it again... there I was enjoying a leisurely morning of browsing around Dland when the server shut down and no sites were reachable... I don't know how long it lasted, but my tolerance for DLand is low these days since the servers have been skiddish for a week now and I don't want to waste my time waiting for the fix... hopefully there will be news that Andrew fixed the problem... the bad news for him is that this was just the wrong month for DLand to go on the fritz as he wants my renewal money... he's losing one of my paid sites, but I might decide to pay for another, though probably downgrading to from Supergold to Gold... the service is just not worth the cost these days...

The Strokes fill the air (as this CD is on it's third repeat play for today)... when recording this CD I combined it with The Wallflowers Breach because they both fit on one CD... recording library CDs again, filling my new loose leaf type 200 CD book day by day... Rasputin tells me that some of the CDs did not play without skipping in his car when he drove Precious up north (did I mention she's gone for a couple of months?)... I suppose I should try each after they are copied, so I am doing that today, but I can copy a CD faster than I can listen and I don't always pay attention to every sound cuz it's often, like TV, just background noise, so whatever... if a CD skips when I finally listen to it, I guess I'll just have to get it from the library again... of course it is very possible that the library copy of a CD has skips on it... and very possible that Precious's CDs that I've copied have scratches on them, since she leaves them anywhere, sometimes sits on them, and often gets them wet or sticky with Pepsi or food... so I won't blame the cheap CDs or the recorder for now... I've not found a copy with a skip yet, but then, I've not listened to many I've copied... and who can complain given the price, really...

alas, ethics cost more than I can afford today...

I received the sixth book in Stephen King's Dark Tower series yesterday and started reading it at work last night (briefly, as there has been very little reading time at work the past few days since finishing Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere... for me, one sign of a book that transcends merely being a good read that must be finished as soon as possible and continued if there's another volume to become a great life experience is whether it inspires social interaction after reading, Neil seems to be in the latter category)... I look forward to reading more Neil Gaiman after finishing Stephen King (and hopefully the third Potter book will arrive soon as the fourth is here already and I did have time to read the third... but then, if it had arrived immediately after I finished the second, I might not have picked up Neverwhere and that would have been a missed great experience so yay for the timing, as usual...

it's been a lazy weekend so far... no gym... delicious stuffed crabs, clams, and seafood patties and barbecue pork and rice and pasta for dinners... Kashi cereal for breakfasts... this lead me to this which reminded me that I have no one who'd go with me to explore anything other than an occasional movie or dinner, which is a bummer... yes, of course, go by myself... not a problem for me when I want to, but often a single guy is not the most welcome person at a social gathering (I can remember wandering Disney by myself years ago and having their security stop me more than once to ask for ID... couples and groups are welcome most anywhere, single females are encouraged anywhere, but a single male is so often suspect in casual social environments... so I don't enjoy going solo as much as I once did)... but I didn't come here to complain today...

I finally get to see Terminator 3 tonight... maybe that is what set off the poor-me lonely guy routine in the last paragraph as I remember that nobody wanted to see T3 in the theatres with me (among other films I wanted to see) even though my two friends here in Orlando knew I really wanted to see it and some other films... that's life these last few years... and so it goes...

well, you didn't expect depth every entry, did you?...
