there is some such clever play on the cliche in my head but the words are just not coming together to satisfy me so i'll babble them out without thinking... while I fiddled with Nero, nothing burned... Nero fiddled, I burned... Nero burns me... after fiddling with Nero for an hour a CD finally burned, but not before I did...

what can I say, word-play eleviates frustration and I am frustrated with Nero today... that is Nero the way more complicated than necessary program, not the Emperor... though I am suddenly wondering if Nero let Rome burn before Constantine rewrote Christianity in Rome's name (so much for my memory... I think so)... maybe I should mention that I am reading The Da Vinci Code at the moment and it is simultaneously amusing and frustrating for the same reasons {my multi-perspective personality is facetnated... that was not a typo... punishing myself, no doubt... let's not all groan at once} and I recommend it to anyone, you live, you learn, and all that jazz)... speaking of jagged little pills, the powers that be at work made another decision to change the system and told the kids before telling us, the staff (and still the management does not seem to see or care how that usurps our authority and diminishes our respect and gives us no time for thought or preparation... what a way to run a psych ward, huh?), specifically that medications will be dispensed in crushed form, creating much frustration, arguments, and sour-puss faces as the pills really do taste awful and from a clinical perspective, the kids are probably going to get less medication in them overall cuz they're going to run to the bathroom and rinse their mouths and tiny pill particles will probably be rinsed away... but that's not what was frustrating me this morning...

it's that I got used to the simplicity of the Adaptec/Roxio program (I think it's called Easy CD Creator and when I installed Nero to check it out it made the Easy CD Creator program unusable... that alone is grounds for uninstalling and discarding and bad-mouthing Nero... trouble is, the Easy CD Creator program came with this used computer and I do not have a way of re-installing it, so I am stuck with sucky Nero for now... ok, maybe it doesn't suck, but the fact that it uses propriety to disable other competitors products majorly sucks... that should be illegal as it is damaging and not going to cost me money, but I am sure the user agreement protects the company from unscrupulous business practices suck as taking control of my computer and making it no longer do what I want it to do...

so I went down to the gym after an hour of distraction trying to get the dumb program to do what I wanted it to do and while it seems to copy a CD, it requires more user interfacing and offers less features (or at least it hides features too well and makes it very challenging and time consuming to find and use features I want in a CD burner program), I dragged this grumbling body down to the gym, burning, and was totally distracted and unmotivated, but pushed myself through a decent workout anyway (sure way to get hurt, but my instincts seem to keep me alive and well so far)... huff, huff, puff, and another step closer to being in a body that can keep up with me again (it helps that I've slowed down in my old age... seems like only a thousand years ago I was fifteen)...

Rasputin came home early and so this entry was paused so I could see how poorly my teams did in fantasy baseball... this is by far the worst year I've had in all the years I've played, so far... the season is young (that has become my mantra... it only works until about July though and even in June it starts getting old)... hopefully I'll do better in the half-season leagues I just formed (want to join? (if you are into baseball and especially enjoy statistics and have a computer that can handle it, you'll love the game)... so anyway, where were we?...

Nero didn't burn in a day, dragging through the gym, pause for baseball talk (hey, anybody watching the NBA playoffs?), enjoying The Da Vinci Code (so far it is definitely fast paced action/suspense {though I could see a change to increase the suspense a thousand-fold that I would suggest for the screenplay, unless there's a twist coming up to make that change unnecessary} great movie material if they do not soften the material to avoid controversy), and while I was chatting baseball with Rasputin, I put some food in the microwave (since Precious left the kitchen and stove a sticky mess last night) and it's beeping as I type this...

so I shall pause in my seemingly never ending babble and call this entry and entry and eat spaghetti and meatballs (remember when I cooked that?... well, this is that last of the frozen portions and come to think of it, that was the last time the klitchen was clean... the compromise is I keep one sink and one counter clean and they don't seem to mind leaving those two spaces mostly clean... life can be strangely amusing sometimes, depending on the phrasing)...

and while I am eating, you go have some fun and come back and tell me all about it... unless you are depressed, in which case it might be too much effort to find some fun so in that case, tell me all about it... well, maybe not all... hopefully something will amuse you, or at least distract you... that is my hope and wish for you today...

I think I'll try to burn another CD as I eat... I will tame the wicked Nero yet... ummmm, now...
