2006 Candor Communications

2006-10-12 - 11:34 p.m.

another day, another concert

yes, if you take a look at the schedule then you'll know where to find me a lot of the time during the months between the summer of 2006 and December (and I've probably left out a bunch) so you should not be too surprised that I've often got post concert energy and music buzzing through me and that will come out in some entries

for instance, maybe this one

arriving home from another concert (Cancerback, A Change of Pace, Moneen, Alexisonfire at The Social, which is one of the smallest, most intimate clubs that get rising bands like for instance Cute is What We Aim For and Paramore)... tonight, except for the second band, mostly heavy metal screamers (and Canadian, no less... shhh, the soup gets better all the time)... A Change of Pace actually changed it's pace a bit much to harden up and scream more just to fit in with the show... I like them better when they do their own thing, but that's just my preference... and I confess (with sincere props to smash, my headbangingest friend) that while I do love all music, the screaming melody-less hard core sound (where words and melodies are lost in inarticulate monotones) is not my favorite as I love to appreciate melodies and vocals and the words as much as I love the music... but still, there's nothing like some hopping and bouncing and head banging to get the body awake and wired and remembering being alive...

of course my legs wouldn't be quite so rubbery (and I'd have bounced around even more) if I got more than four hours sleep last night (and it would be wise to get some tonight), but heck, who's counting... and rubbery legs are quite fun if you don't fall down too hard... or if the floor was not concrete but heck, that's what ice and triple bacterial ointment and bandaids are for

in any case, as you see, we're home a bit earlier than expected and so there's a bit of time for the web while listening to magnifiscent Meg and adorable Dia and glancing up at the muted baseball playoffs as I ramble on a bit more for me and you and a dog named blue...

in all seriousness about this Meg and Dia thing, I really haven't fell in love with a voice quite this obsessively since... ummm, I'll have to ponder that, but this ranks up there with the most wonderful adorations and stimulations by a voice in this life... you can find some of the other voices who've reached me this way over in the aural section of Libboland and I know, it's not one of the branches off the tree of madness on the right of the RealTime blog where many branches can be found descreetly linked, but it {Libboland} is a subsection of bios {and some of the voices that reach me is a subsection of Libboland} and bios is one of the branches listed, so it actually is listed, just not as subdivided as say, crossroads {the site map of the written gardens} might be... and come to think of it, there's actually a lot not linked here, but who has time for it all, after all)...

and the music and words Meg creates (at least I think it's mostly Meg writing the songs) with Dia and the band draws my mind to them even more... though I recently heard Kenji, the very excellent guitar player (with Meg, who also plays guitar), is leaving the group mid-tour, which is not a good sign (at least finish the tour?), to do something solo or with others... too soon, I say, he might end up like what's his name, the drummer that left the Beatles and was replaced by Ringo Starr (he was Pete Best, but only Beatles trivia nuts might know his name)...

actually Kenji is good, a loss all around, I'd say...

oh, and did I just compare Meg and Dia to the Beatles?... stranger things have happened... they have a very similar quality, though it would reverse genders and MaD have deeper and more literary initial songs... anyway, I really did not come here to ramble on about MaD (Meg and Dia) tonight, so I'll save that for another time and place (or times and places, if they don't mind)... perhaps it's a bit late for that

after all (follow the logic here now), I am not a monogamous obsessor (which is why I'd make such a bad stalker... I mean, picture a stalker with ADD (it helps if you visualize a favorite cartoon character)... there our stalker is in the middle of setting off to follow one obsession when another comes along and leads the poor ADD-addled stalker in another direction... the laughing stock of the stalkers union, ya know)...

are you still with me?

so yes, any moment now I shall introduce my latest momentary obsession (hey, the wow-meter rang up so high she was instantly added to the genius section of the links on the right of the RealTime blog along with my other momentary inspirations {an obsession gains inspiration status when it sticks around a while and can not longer be considered momentary, in case you wondered... then it [the label, in case you weren't following] moves to folly or friend or both, hence the title for that link section on the right of the RealTime blog, in case you wondered about those section headings on the right of the RealTime blog even more}, ok?... so let's not let the fact that it is still considered momentary degrade the obsession just yet cuz it certainly has the potential to rise)...

perhaps this is not the most poignant time to mention that I updated the onion blog (also linked on the right of the RealTime blog) with two new posts? (back then, whenever then was)... it happened to be on the birth date of one of my favorite little sisters (and fantasy romantic inspirations), a date that often inspires me to stay awake, stay awake, survive and write all through the night (or day, when I was working night shift) but then, timing-wise, I mean, how many roads can your mind walk down before you lose it?

love is everywhere
love is everything
love is energy
love is how we sing
and we can all sing together
and we can all fall in love
with each other
that's the dream I dream of

of course one mass orgy with everything participating everywhere might get a bit messy and confusing to our complicated intellects, but on the other hand, would that be what the simplest elements or cosmic winds experience (perhaps even on some level that is as beautiful as falling in love is for us) and isn't the essence of falling in love beyond our intellect and pure instinct, pure biochemical reaction, pure elemental interactions for us, molecules moving through our brains and bodies and who is to say that sunshine does not orgasm when it touches and warms the Earth (or our bodies, for that matter)

of course your commentary (presenting but one example of the fun we sometimes have when you ponder and respond) is much appreciated

but yes, be that as it may be or not to be, let's suddenly leap back to introducing my latest momentary obsession and hopefully soon to be inspiration, I dub her brie*ness, cuz she has this aura in her web presense in words and images, in thoughts and feelings, that deserves some sort of honor and respect... at first glance/read she kind reminds me a little of Jenny Lewis (of Rilo Kiley), though I couldn't give any specifics as to why at once cute and enlightening, raw and beautiful, light and heavy... so yay for finding another light and may we all shine on (like the moon and the stars and the sun and the songs that remind us)...

did I mention I got a message from Meg (yes, I mean the Meg, magical half of Meg and Dia... Dia's the dreamy half, ok?... illiteration plays a role there, but it's not inaccurate) at myspace?... shhh, it's not gonna go to my head, really, it's not... but I did have to mention it again, huh?... well, maybe it'll go to my head a little...

hope you had as wonderful a night as me
