being way far behind, I cheat by posting a comment inspired by romance, or at least some interesting questions about it...

I've been trying to update the RealTime blog every day, in case you miss me (mind if I smirk?)... and I am still trying to find time to sort through the many megabytes of rhymes and babbles I found from letters from a couple of years in the 90s for sprinkling all throughout my written gardens on the web... but mostly I've been working and sleeping, so here's something from deeper within for you to peruse or ponder as you wish...

on the questions about romance...

you definitely pose questions that inspire some ponderings and I enjoying your other commenters ponderings and now I ponder a bit myself...

my first reactions was 'yes' and not just any yes, but a little-kid excited yes as I remembered with all of my being the times I shared romance with friends and acquaintences and some strangers as well...

I think romance is giving, serving, catering to another's needs and desires and whims for a little while, being sensitive to their every motion, their every nuance... whether it is the brief eternity of a dance (like the Fred and Ginger reference) or the even briefer moment of giving up a seat on a crowded train and chatting or just imagining exploring the mystery of the other person who you know from just a lingering glance and smile of appreciation...

and it is also the deep falling in love and giving the whole self to serve another for all eternity...

in all it's forms, romance is still measured in moments, the most real, caring, feeling, giving, sharing moments we can experience as humans... for those brief moments we let ourselves be pampered, giving a moment of unconditional trust that the seat will be slid gently under our bottom, rather than pulled out so we splat on the floor in a pratfall... giving the unconditional love that lets someone know you are there for them and trusts them to be there for you, that for that moment they are everything that matters and can ask for anything they desire...

a great waiter or waitress, in that sense, is a romantic experience... or a great massage... professional romance generally costs, but it can be well worth it for the pampering...

romance is not only the fall as in falling in love, but it is believing in the fall and believing in love itself...

love is love, the giving and wanting and impulse to be with someone that reaches beyond consciousness... sex is sex, the hunger for sharing physical desire and basic instincts... romance is romance, the unconditional offer and gift of kindness, comfort, service...

the best experiences are when all three come together in one precious sharing and bonding between two people, but each are beautiful and amazing without the others...

a first dance between father and daughter is romance...

as is a walk on a beach, through a park, under the stars allowing yourself to experience the big picture, the universe and your living breathing body walking through it...

romance is the gift of self, for a moment, for a dance, for an evening, for an eternity...
