you might wonder why this entry is a day late (for you real-time readers, that makes sense, and for the rest of you, it was, but that probably doesn't matter nearly as much as the why behind the time reference now that it's later... what?)...

I get home from work after yesterday and all but pass out in the big green chair cuz of the fun little cold-flu bug that was doing it's best to take up residence in my body and you can read all about the way I did not exactly stay asleep (or get enough sleep, for that matter), by going back an entry... this is enough summary, especially if you have a weak stomach when it comes to body fluids (...

so after yesterday, you'd think I'd collapse and finally get some sleep today, right?... well, you know about best laid plans, don'tcha?... the amazing part may be that I have not actually passed out yet... but there's still time and anything is possible...

so I got home from work and this tale begins...

there's no school, so Precious is awake and watching TV as I walk in the door... a DVD is on... Joan of Arc... she's adorable, kind of a young Helen Hunt and reminds me (visually) of Shari (so therein can be a wonderful fantasy image), who doesn't get nearly as much press as Amy has (especially recently, huh), but was one of the most adorable and compatible and most of all, devoted to me loves I've ever known in this life and, if not for Amy, we might still be together today... on the other hand, well, already I digress into memories and fantasies, huh?... I can help it {as opposed to 'I can;t help it'}, but I indulge my hunger for love and romance and passion a lot lately because it keeps the sadness of loneliness in check... as long as I let myself lament {and you know I do, as if you didn't know that by now} and the occasional begging {love me love me love me... especially if you're a libido fantasy} with irreverence and can dream, I can smile... but this was not the point of this entry, after all)...

yes, ok, we were relating the day that was...

the film draws me in and keeps me semi-awake until after 11am and that's the primary reason this entry is a day late as I did not have the mental energy (or want to create it) to divide my attention from the story on the TV screen to the stories on the computer screen... and then Precious and Rasputin went out to do some food shopping and after becoming part of the big green chair for about an hour, from deep within REM sleep, I vaguely hear the phone (it was in my pocket in the bedroom)...

again...

and then again...

I think maybe somebody came home for a minute before the phone rang a few more times... all this might have been a half hour or an hour, since it was still before noon and I remember the clock passing 11am before the film ended and I fell asleep... so I got up to check and I see Precious called a lot... I called back and my roommates were in an car accident...

no injuries, just a little shaken... at least everyone was walking around when I got there... the cars, however, looked totalled... it took three hours to get the towing and FHP reports done (and do I need to mention that we got caught in the pouring rain?... of course, exactly what the cold-bug in my head planned for it's take-over)... the cars towed and the paperwork completed, we headed home...

I am starting to forget the last time I actually slept in a bed...

before I could get to the bed, while I was semi-nodding off in the chair, Raspy was tracking down his insurance appraiser and trying to find out how he'd be getting around for a while... finally, somewhere around 5pm, I drove him somewhere (I think my eyes were open, but I don't recall much of the trip) to pick up a car he can use for the next week or few... and then I think I got a few hours sleep before heading out to work...

of course I have no good justification for complaining now, since my car is fine and I don't have to deal with the grief of repairs or car-shopping and bills and insurance investigations and rates going up and all that crap... but the title of this entry is still true...

and aren't you glad I didn't type out this entire entry the way I actually sound at the moment?...

anyway, this is what we at the casa de candoor can offer for your reading plasure or amusement (we can hope you didn't fall asleep, huh?) until the next entry, which will be up later, is written... I might have made this tale more amusing had I been awake when I wrote it, or now, even, but then, the important thing is that everyone is intact and still alive today... amazing as that may seem sometimes...
