browsing

ok, so I have a screen full of shortcuts... yes, the entire screen is covered in shortcuts and there are more offscreen that can only be accessed by opening the Desktop folder... so I think it's about time I explored a few of these most recently visited and saved sites and see about either scribbling a note or comment or guestbook entry or at least mentioning them in my rambles because otherise the laptop will scrash and we won't get to ramble tonight... I spent much of this week browsing diaries and following links within diaries and now you will reap the benefits (hey, let's be optimistic, ok?) of my wanderings... ready?... well, ready or not, here we go (wherever that might be... and you know I'm gonna probably slip in some links to secret places like I sometimes do, dontcha?)...

ok, starting in midstream (as there are thousands of shortcuts to explore in a folder on this laptop and thousands more on my other computers and someday... ah, someday) I start clicking what is on my screen... and I first find myself at pocket5 and being an old hand in pockets, I was amused by the name and disappointed that the diary is defunct, or rather moved here (and I recalled Heinlein's Time Enough For Love that I re-read and loved again recently (well, last year, but it was one of the last books I read and I have all sorts of quotes from it to insert here and there one of these days) and yes, I am a sucker for a cute face or an interesting image, being so visual and all, but there was something in the pocket that intrigued me and was amazed when I went back to read from the beginning and reading the first entries, I found I did not want to stop... yes, a very good place to start... but much more recently, this left me speechless...

well, not new, but many of you know about z0tl... like a bad car wreck, we find ourselves drawn back time after time... you know there's going to be some carnage, some slapping of the face, some almost insulting remark, some phrasing of words that makes you go "hmmmmmm...", and yet resistence is futile... the name appears and you click... or did I mean Bobby?... wait, maybe I meant Eric, but seriously, how can we not get addicted?... no really... I mean, really...

but that was not this week, come to think of it... that shortcut was left over from last week, deservedly so as I returned and remembered why I left it on my desktop... and then I wandered semi-aimlessly over to iwillsurvive, who's name alone inspires me to remember not so much the song, which was and probably still is terribly overplayed, but the sentiment expressed in the words and how I used them as a mantra when I was on the streets... meanwhile, the rambly life diary fits in with us here at candoor and I related to the simple things that I read and saw... wanting a friend (leave a comment and you'll see what I mean unless the design changes before you do) took me back to my own much more long winded attempts at finding friends online and Amy Grant always reminds me of her song I Will Remember You which leads me to some still unresolved issues (yes, issues) in my heart and I always have to make an appointment with my dentist and apologize for forgetting to call to cancel my appointment that I missed on Halloween because I was up in Chattanooga giving a bride away at her wedding... anyway, with dreams of Weird Al opening for Amy Grant, how can this mind not be fun to read?... and I just figured out that there's a review site connected with this, that scares me to giggles... all in all, there's links to play with and subtle references (like to The Wizard of Oz, American Pie, and others) give me the sense that this writer have common ground... even if we never know it...

and then there was dutchwink and I remembered I like Australians and it's not just cuz they are from Oz... based on all the reading of Aussie's I've done, there is something uniquely odd about the Australian mind and I love it... maybe it's the good sense silliness or maybe it's just romantic notions about exotic places, but I've never met an Aussie I didn't like... of course I've only met a few, but I read many hundreds... yes, definitely shallow judgments in this paragraph, but I love this site and dutchwink reminded me about it and especially this... but anybody who wanks 2-3 times a day and can appreciate cyber porn as much as Love Actually (and cuddles) has to be read more often... note to self, check out Kevin Bloody Wilson...

now you know I had to steal this image... even as Milla Jovovich's beautiful face burns up my TV screen (yes, Fifth Element again), how can anyone resist an eroticmemoir... obviously perversions has some favorites updating to do...

and the lyrical music lover in me is loving the idea of this and seeing as how o t

hers have filled it out as well (I'll get to it one day, but then, I already did kinda sorta in my own way and I really like the movie quote variation idea) and I think there should be a public diary where everybody can post their own answers...

now this entry has been going on for a while and I have been distracted (by choice) by movies on the TV I've mentioned at least a couple, Final is on right now and the filming is just odd enough to be appealing and yet disturbing at the same time)... I've eaten and browsed even more diaries and other sites that were linked from the diaries I am already mentioning (good to have a fifty track mind, trouble is, few follow me and that leaves me lonely, again, naturally)... the point is I now have even more shortcuts on my desktop than I did when I started clearing them off (I filed one away in a folder each time I mentioned it here)... I suppose this is sort of a review entry, but it is meant to be a chronical of my journeys on the web this past week... it's just taking so dang long to spit out, I'll never be finished... I'm not sure if that is a good thing or not... anyway, naridu lead me to still more links I'll eventually explore and probably ramble about at some future date... and then there are dozens of others... and hundreds more... and thousands... and...

soon to be browsing...
