if I told you this already then I am just cheating in order to catch up on entries since I am almost a week behind and only have five entries written and this would have been the title of this entry but it got too long...

maybe you recall my ranting about the local phone company, BS (their initials fit their performance so well, it could be seen as proof that there order in this universe, as opposed to this BS, I suppose), and their stupid divide and conquer business model and practices... it is one of the baby Bells and I am tired of mentioning their name and giving them free publicity... I have a local phone line with them... I have long distance with them... I have a remote voicemail with them... I have two cell phone lines with them... and I have DSL home networking with them... all in all, that closing in on $200 a month in basic services... a drop in the bucket for a multinational conglomerate, which this Bell phone company is ultimately a part of, it is less than chump change... but then, if enough chump change customers realize they have choices, they might respect the few bucks each of us send them each month...

anyway, it was time to make my monthly call to try to resolve the confusion at their end and get my bill right... I've been on the phone with them several hours, at least, every month since I first added DSL to the services they provide back in September of last year... today, I called and cut right to the chase... I told the first person I spoke to that if they did not find a way to resolve the ongling confusion and billing that amounts to fraud, I would file a claim with the FCC... well low and behold, someone, a Mrs. Francis, got on the phone and gave me half the credits I was owed... that's $149 (since they mistakenly billed me an extra $50 this month, which might have been the straw that broke their camel's back as the pattern of errors in billing did not look good for them)... a very good feeling, to have finally conquered, at least half way, the phone company... the second half is waiting for them to send out the rebate forms they promised last month and the month before that would allow me to re-submit the rebate forms I submitted back at the end of March so they can rebate me the other $149 and we can all our accounts even... at least until their next billing error...

I so want to believe that everything will come in time, that what goes around comes around, that the love I gave will equal to the love I save (or get and saves me) in the long run, but in those moments when it feels like it has been such a very long run along, and desperation, the enemy that brings blindness and bliss that too often turns false and into despair, it is somehow good to know someone else understands the angst of unfulfilled desire, a longing that words can barely begin to express.

but most of all I worked a lot and wallowed some and hardly slept and did a bunch of other mindless things...
